Seokjin didn't need a stool to reach the top shelf this time.

There was something about the sword that made him walk towards it.

'Phoenix warrior'

No, it was impossible. He's not a warrior, the thought was just plain stupid. Maybe Josie is just very old, maybe it was just side effects. But he kept walking towards the sword.

'Save Princess Emerald, Phoenix warrior.'

The sentence kept playing inside his mind like some sort of jinx. He reaches towards the glass container, and was very careful on putting it down on the floor.

"Damn it Jin, what are you doing?" he muttered to himself.

'She mentioned you...' he remembered Chi saying.

What did Josie say? Why was he so important? No- he's not important, that's stupid. He took back his hand, and stared at the sword. He traced his eyes on the shape of a phoenix at the flat of the blade.

Take the sword

It wasn't a voice nor a sign, but it was kind of pulling him. Finally, He opened the glass container with his fingers.

'Maybe it won't hurt anymore' he thought, but of course it did. The very moment he touched the handle, the burning pain had spread on his fingers. He took back his hand immediately, and wrapped it with the hem of his shirt. But something was tempting him to touch it again, Seokjin was irritated, he wanted to be able to hold the sword now.

Without any slow motions, he grabbed the sword's grip, then suddenly the excuriating burning sensation had spread on his right hand . He roared in pain, but his hands still clutched tightly on the sword's hilt. He gasped for air, as the skin of his palm started to stick at the sword, and his screams echoed inside the forge.

The burning pain made it's way up his arm, and to his chest making it harder for Seokjin to breathe. He grabbed a chair's back rest, but it also gave a burning sensation at his touch. He tried to call for help, but the pain was also deafening him. But as soon as the sword's blade gave out a fiery glow, so did he. The pain had stop, Seokjin fell to his knees, panting.

The Phoenix crest glowed, flashing out rays of light inside the forge, that he needed to shut his eyes close to avoid being blinded. Finally, the light died, but he kept his eyes closed.

"Faex!"

Seokjin fluttered his eyes open, and quickly turned around to see who's there.

Jimin's eyes were wide open, and stared at him while looking astound. His lips quivered, trying to say something. Seokjin merely stared back at him in shock.

"The- the pro- the prophecy..." The werewolf stuttered.

Seokjin did not get what his friend was saying, and continued to stare at him, but this time he was puzzled.

"The ph-phoenix" Jimin pointed at the sword.

He raised the sword to look at the blade. It reflected his face, but his complexion was different, as if he had just newly forged something by the fire. The phoenix crest seemed to merge with his reflection. Then suddenly, Seokjin got what he was trying to say.

"The phoenix shall rise from it's ashes..." Jimin breathed.

Seokjin couldn't believe it, but it's right there, he was holding the sword, and it felt like it was one with him. He was no longer just the blacksmith's son.

"I'm- I'm the phoenix warrior."
