I laid down that night hours after Hannah left thinking about how much I really do like her and have liked her for sometime now, I just didn't realize it.
I rolled to my side and looked at the clock.
It was only 9:36pm. I'm getting hungry.
I moved my hand to the side of the bed to press the assistance button when my door flew open.
"Danny, I have really, really good news I need to tell you and I think it will make you happy." Mrs. Brown said overly joyed.
"Can it wait, because what can make me happy right now is food." I said, smiling at her.
"Okay, but when you eat I have to tell you your surprise." she said.
"Well, if you tell me it won't be a surprise then will it." I said, getting a little impatient because I really wanted a hamburger.
"You know what I meant, what do you want to eat?" she asked getting a pen and paper to write down my order.
"I want a hamburger, well cheeseburger with everything on it except onions, mayonnaise, and ketchup." I said, I really hated those things.
"Okay, I will get that for you and then, I can tell you."
"okay." I said smiling waving to her as she shut the door.
'what could it be?'
'why is she so excited?'
'when do I get out of here?'
'when does Ross get out of here?'
My mind filled with thoughts that I couldn't answer by myself, so I just sat there and waited for her to bring my food back.
I think I leave tomorrow, because I've been in here for a week, and it was just a concussion.
'wasn't it'
My thoughts were once again interrupted by my door opening... I didn't let it bother me because it was Mrs. Brown and she had my dinner.
"here is your hamburger, no ketchup, mayo, or onions." she said putting the food on a tray.
She sat the tray in my lap and I began to gulp down the hamburger instantly.
"Now, what did you want to tell me that was so important?" I asked with a mouthful of food.
"okay, so you know you get out of here tomorrow?" she said, but I had a feeling that wasn't her great news.
"no I didn't know that, but okay." I said waiting for her to continue.
"well, the doctor ran more x-rays on Ross' injuries and found a mistake from there previous find." she said and didn't continue.
"what was it?" I asked getting impatient.
"Ross' lung wasn't punctured and his pelvis isn't crushed." she said.
my heart fell, I was so happy but I couldn't express how I wanted to all I did was feel a tear roll down my cheek.
she continued on...
"it's going to be okay Danny, Ross will be able to come home in about 2 months."
"really?"
"yes, because what they thought was a crushed pelvis, was a malfunction in the picture which was taken and the punctured lung was the same."
"they really need to fix that then if it messes up that much." I said putting my plate aside.
I finished my dinner and she took the dirty dishes out of the room.
