Why hide from me? (Leonardo x Reader)

Third person POV;

Leo lead the shy Y/n to the top of a computer business building that was high enough to touch the midnight moon. They both sat on the ledge staring at the colored wild traffic on the streets below them. He gazed at her long strands of h/c hair that blew in the cold air above New York. He gathered the courage to speak.

"Y/n," He spoke softly drawing her attention.

"Yes Leo?" She asked in a voice not as soft as the one she had used when everyone was around her.

"Where are you from? How did you become mutated? Do you remember?" Leo's eyes pleaded for answers and she sighed and continued to look at him.

"Before I took this form, I belonged to a sweet girl named Isabelle, her father was a famous scientist, her mother left the two making her father struggle to feed the both of them and myself. He tried to invent amazing things because he had promised Isabelle that everything would be alright in life," Leo listened carefully as Y/n's story unraveled. "One night he had mixed highly radioactive chemicals and poured them over my head. It burned me so I had tipped things over and human DNA had some how seeped into my veins. They both died from this dangerous contact and I ran away before I was shot by the police or whatever men were chasing me." Y/n finished looking away from Leo and back up at the moon.

"Wow I had not expected that." Leo said in a softer tone and looked away as well. "So what happened back at the house? When we got pizza?"

"Oh," she said faintly as their eyes met again. "I had a flashback from my past. I loved Isabelle, I was her only real friend, and it was my fault that she died that night. When we had to jump from that tree idk what happened.... I just heard the gun shots that I had heard when I escaped that house." Leo sighed.

"I'm sorry Y/n, I didn't mean to trigger anything."

"No I'm sorry Leo, it's my fault, I'm weak." Leo wrapped his arm around her and she tensed. "Oh yeah, look what I have!" She said pulling out something from behind her. Leo's arm retreated back to its normal spot and he leaned over to see what she had. She had managed to get her hands on a whole box of pepperoni goodness!! His mouth flooded with drool, he was starving. And so was she. "Let's open it up." She said putting it on her lap and opening the box.

"It's still warm." Leo gasped as he grabbed a slice and shoved it in his face.

"It is." Y/n said doing the same.
