Clementine's POV
I figure out the woman's name is Tess. She reminds me of Elena. Shit! Not again. Keep those thoughts in, Clem! But I shake awake by Ellie as she gasped my hand and take me to a platform. Joel presses the button and we went down.

"Are you okay?" Ellie whispered.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said softly.

"Who's waitin' for us at the drop off?" Joel asked.

"She said there's some fireflies that traveled here all the way from another city. The girls must be important." Tess said, looking at us, "What's the deal with you two? You guys some big-wig's daughters or something?"

Not at all. If only you and the big Texas man knew....

"Something like that." Ellie responded as the platform stopped and we got off.

It was dark expect for the red light in the tunnel.

"How long is this gonna take?" I asked.

"If everything goes as planned, we should get you two there in a few hours. Ellie, Clementine, once we get out there, you guys need to stay close." Tess told us.

"Yeah, of course." Ellie replied.

"Yeah, Yeah, follow your lead." I sarcastically said.

We arrived to a room with a ladder. Joel quickly climbed up the ladder and removed the wooden board that covered the hole and check for soldiers.

"Now, hold up. There's a patrol up ahead." Joel whispered to us.

We waited a few minutes before Joel spoke," Alright, you three. C'mon up, it's safe now." He climbed the rest of the way up. We hurried and got our before Joel covered the hole again.

"This rain ain't gonna do us any good." Joel observed the rain.

We start the walk as Ellie and I were holding our hands and take a gasp at our surroundings.

"Holy shit...Clem, we're actually outside." Ellie told me.

"It's so much prettier than the goddamn zones." I replied.

The outside is so much beautiful than the zones when soldiers harassed your ass 24/7 for an ID. I wish I could be outside forever with Ellie by my side.

"Up this way." Joel ushered us through a truck that carries heavy supplies.

He looked around and then was hit in the back of the head by the barrel of a gun.

"Don't do anything stupid." The female guard said, pointing her flashlight and gun at me.

"Move." The male solider ordered us.

We put our hands up and kneel to the ground beside Joel.

"You scam 'em. I'll call it in." The woman said.

"Put your hands on your head." The man told us.

"We are, Damnit!" I hissed.

"You, shut up!" The man hiss back.

"This is Ramirez at Sector Twelve." The woman spoke into her radio, "Requesting pickup for four stragglers.....Understood."

"Look the other way. We can make this worth your while." Tess said as she's getting scanned.

"Shut up." The man scanned Joel next, "I'm getting tired of this shit."

"Uh-hmm." The woman replied.

"What's the ETA?" The man asked as he scan me.

"Couple of minutes." The woman said.

"Oh man, oh man." Ellie said as she takes out her switchblade, "Sorry." She stabs him in the knee and the man attacked her.
