"Hiccup!" called Merida. Elinor glared at her and told her to sit down, but Merida wouldn't. It was Hiccup alright. Merida didn't know why she hadn't recognized him from the back, what with all that messy brown hair.

Soon she felt Elinor's arms forcing her to sit down. Merida's feet tapped impatiently.

Fergus came up to the front. "The winner of Merida's hand is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third. The wedding ceremony will take place tomorrow." The crowd began to leave, and soon it diminished to nothing, leaving only Hiccup and Merida still left in the competing fields.

Merida ran up to him and hugged him. Hiccup hugged her back. "You competed?" Merida asked, still in disbelief.

"Sure I did, Princess. I couldn't let you marry a complete stranger, could I?" Hiccup smirked.

"Hiccup, thank you."
