Chapter 1: Life as We Know it

My name is Gabriel West. I'm 25, have brown hair, blue eyes, am a pretty average person overall, but most importantly to the story I'm telling you is that I'm part of a legacy. I'm not talking about a business legacy or some kind of ruling family but something much darker. We've all been told or heard since the time we could understand how things work, about how we age until we turn eighteen and then stop until we meet our soul mates and become Bonded, how it should be the happiest day of our lives because no matter how long you've lived you will finally be truly happy. The downside to this is you start aging again and will eventually die, hopefully of old age with them by your side but there have been stories of pairs or even just one Bonded killing themselves or being killed. As we've heard from the unlucky people that have had to experience it, your Bonded being killed is apparently just as bad as dying yourself , that the suffering just continues either until the lone Bonded dies of some other cause or they meet their reincarnated partner.

My story however is not nearly as happy. Remember how I said I am part of a legacy? That legacy is of murdered partners to one specific girl before they could become bonded. She has been eighteen for the last seven hundred years for one reason that is more horrifying than I could have ever imagined before I met her, because she killed them. All of them

Hey guys. This is my first story I'm posting to the site and this is just a taste of what's to come. I get the first chapter kind of sucks but I honestly ground this out just to see if I could and hopefully it'll get better as it goes.
