I felt my body grow weak as I stared at the red liquid that oozed out of her leg. BOOM ... BOOM.. her veins throbbed and I could hear the blood buzzing as it flowed through her body. My vision became blurry as I began to walk towards her my mouth becoming more and more dry with each given step
"What.. what are you doing?" The girl asked through the pain but I paid no attention to her as I gently but shakily touched the blood and stared at the deep red liquid that stained my finger, "What are you doing!" The girl panicked now and she shuffled backwards trying to get away from me
"I don't know." I answered simply and suddenly found myself behind her. The only thing that was in my head was stop that BOOM ... BOOM sound! So, that's exactly what I attempted to do. My eyes felt as if it grew more intense and I saw -or maybe I was imagining it but, I saw her veins poke out from her neck and felt the urge to rip it out. All this while she was screaming from the sudden fast movement I made to get from in front of her to behind her.
"I can't control it." I tried to say but my mouth was too dry and before I knew it, my mouth was at her neck and my teeth grew against it. The warm liquid slid down my dry throat making me feel a lot better so I attempted to suck out as much as I could to stop the ridiculous ache I was in. The liquid was sweet but tasted a bit diluted but I didn't mind, it was better than the water I'd been downing. My dehydration was gone but the taste was addictive and I didn't want to stop until the last drop. The pounding sound of her veins was becoming weaker now and I opened my eyes and realised what I was doing. My mouth was at her throat! I was sucking... her blood?
"Fuck!" I heard and the next thing I know, I hit against metal bins hard. I was across the road now from the girl who was on the floor barely alive. I groaned from the pain the hard contact had on me but stopped once a figure came towards me, fast.
"Kyle." He stopped low to my level as I laid against the rubbish behind me. A huge amount of emotions rushed in and I began to panic. I touched my lips and stared at the blood that remained on my fingers. It was all real
"Wha.. what's happening to me?" I panicked as I felt tears brewing in my eyes. I wiped at my mouth continuously trying to get rid of the blood or trying to convince myself that once I looked at my hands, there'd be no blood there and that everything would've been a lie
"Aye.. aye." The guy gently grabbed at my hand, "aye.. it's going to be okay alright." I remained silent as I listened to him because I truly didn't know what to believe anymore, I didn't know what was happening. Once he figured that I was listening, he continued with "alright good.. good. We've got to move you alright? Some place safe and out of the light alright?" He spoke to me like I was a baby but I didn't care
"What about-" I looked beyond him but there was no longer a body on the pavement. The girl was no where to be seen. I snatched my hands away from him and put my head in my hands
"Aye.. aye.." he tried to pry my hands away gently, "I'll explain everything to you"
I shook my head as more tears fell, "I wanna go home!"
"Shhhhh," he panicked a bit as he studied our surroundings, "you don't wanna draw attention to yourself. C'mon I need to get you out of here."
He was right. All these nosey ass people would make it their duty to find out what's happened and I was not about to leash out on another.
"You ready?"
I turned my head back to him and tried to focus since I kept zoning out, "Erm.." I shrugged as I stared down at the dried blood on my hands. The last thing I heard was a sigh and everything went black.

Noises flooded my ears as my neck ached. I sat up in the bed I was in and stretched and massage my neck attempting to get rid of the ache. I quickly peered at my hands and there weren't any blood on them. Sighing in relief that it was a dream I got out of bed and walked towards my mirror situated on my door but there wasn't any mirror there. What the fuck? I thought then took in my surroundings. I wasn't in my bed or home and to make things worse, the room was pitch black but I could see clearly.
"For fucks sake!" I shouted in frustration because I wasn't dreaming. This was real life
I heard laughter followed by footsteps but for some reason I didn't panic. I no longer cared about anything
"I remember the first time I changed." A girl walked in. She had on knee high black shiny heeled boots with ripped light blue jeans with a white bandeau top on. Her dark brown skin was deeply moisturised, she had a mini curly fro that suited her small face. The girl moved her thick lips away from the bag full of red liquid. It smelt a bit like fresh salad but I brushed off the thoughts since it could be a healthy smoothie that she'd made since her belly was toned, it made sense. She walked over to the trash can in the room that I was in and threw the empty bag in before turning to me with a teethy smile
"Why am I here?" I went straight to the point then I felt another ache in my neck. "Why the hell does my neck ache?!" I yelled in frustration as someone else came in
"He snapped your neck." She shrugged towards the guy that came in. It was the same guy that I was with earlier. He rolled his eyes at her as she continued grinning
"Snapped my neck? What the fuck I could've died!" I shouted at both of them
"But you didn't." The girl said before sitting on the desk on the left side of the bed
"But I could've!"
"You couldn't have." The guy sat on the desk beside her. "You're already dead so..."
"Huh?!" My eyes were probably on the verge of popping out
"Oh boy.." the girl sighed
"You died in an accident." The guy offered a smile and I let out a laugh because of how messed up my head was
"So what, I'm in hell?" I asked sarcastically
"No silly, you're undead." The girl said then laughed because she knew how confusing that sounded.
"Undead? So what I'm a zombie now?" I laughed sarcastically
"Hmm I'd say vampire but whatever floats your boat." She shrugged
"You've gotta be kidding me.." I sat on the bed
"Trust me, I wish I were kidding.." she said and sashayed her way out of the room
I looked pleadingly at the guy but he just sat there and shrugged. I laid on the bed, sighed and covered my face with my hands. I was trying to not lose my self because I believed them. I mean, I was just sucking blood out of someone's neck a minute ago! The vampire sagas I've been watching definitely allowed me to see signs but now that I was thinking about it, those sagas had it all wrong. Why were the vampires glittery? I quickly stared at my brown skin but there was no sign of glitter.
"If you're checking if you have shiny or glitter sprinkled delicately on your skin, you're going to be disappointed." The guy sighed and laid on the bed beside me, put his hands behind his head and crossed his right leg over the other
"I was just itching my skin." I lied and sat up
"It's very offensive you know." He continued, "who the hell came up with the idea of vampires with glitter? Making us all look like a bunch of pussies. Reasons why humans are food-"
"Hey!" I interrupted, giving him an offended look
He gave a little chuckle, "you can't be offended anymore. You're no longer human."
