Caspian's nurse hadn't been chased off as Miraz claimed. Instead she had made the mistake of telling Caspian stories about Old Narnia. When Caspian had questioned his uncle about the validity of the stories, King Miraz denied them and sent his nurse away to prevent further stories being told.
Unfortunately for him, Doctor Cornelius was connected to the Old Narnia and told Caspian anything he wanted to hear. Of course, he was more careful, so when his daughter and Prince Caspian came asking about the stories they had read in a history book, he asked them to meet him in the astronomy tower after sundown.
Doctor Cornelius told them of the White Witch, Jadis, and how she cursed the land with a winter that lasted a hundred years. He told them that one day, a young girl named Lucy Pevensie arrived, triggering the start of the end of the winter. Lucy was a daughter of eve, much similar to the Telmarians, and it had been prophesied that two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve would save Narnia from the witch.
Naturally, Lucy's arrival caused panic among the witches allies. Lucy had met a fawn named Mr. Tumnus and was at his house when the witch heard of her. Mr. Tumnus saved Lucy by sending her back where she came from.
Lucy returned again and visited Mr. Tumnus. However, her older brother Edmund followed her and unknowingly told the witch about Lucy and Mr. Tumnus, before going back to his home with Lucy.
Lucy and Edmund returned many weeks later, this time however they were accompanied by their older siblings, Peter and Susan. They discovered that Mr. Tumnus had been taken by the White Witch and instantly wished to go back home. However they were found by Mr. Beaver who took them to his dam and he and his wife taught the children about Narnia and the prophecy. While doing this, Edmund left the house undetected and went to see the witch again. Once arriving at the witch's castle and telling her the location of his siblings, the Beaver's dam was attacked, forcing the remaining Pevensie children to follow the beavers.
The beavers took them to Aslan's Army where they were reunited with a remorseful Edmund.
Y/n and Caspian had heard of Aslan before but only in hushed whispers and rumours. When Doctor Cornelius said he was real, the children were shocked but not unbelieving.
They were told that Aslan met the Pevensies at the camp. At the camp, Aslan knighted Peter and made him a leader of the army. He also talked to Edmund about his mistake. When the White Witch arrived, Aslan sacraficed himself. Lucy and Susan stayed with Aslan's lifeless body while the army went to war the next day.
During the battle, Aslan was resurrected and together with Lucy and Susan, gathered renforcements from the Witch's castle. She had frozen many of Aslan's allies.
With the arrival of the renforcements, Aslan's Army won, with Aslan killing the White Witch.
After the battle, Aslan made the Pevensies into King's and Queens of Narnia; High King Peter the Magnificent, Queen Susan the Gentle, King Edmund the Just, and Queen Lucy the Valiant. They ruled for over a decade until they mysteriously disappeared starting the Dark Age.
Doctor Cornelius told these stories over many weeks. One night, Caspian asked the doctor a question.
"How do you know so much about a forbidden history?"
"My dear boy," Doctor Cornelius started. "My mother was a dwarf."
Y/n's mouth dropped open slightly as both the children's eyes went wide.
"D-does that-t mean-?" Y/n stuttered.
"Yes," Doctor Cornelius said to his daughter. "Dwarf blood runs in both our veins."
Y/n was shaking with shock so her father held her and reassured her that no one would know unless she wanted them too and it wouldn't change anything.
Several months later, Doctor Cornelius trusted his daughter with the secret of his most prized possession.
"Y/n," he spoke after Caspian had left after one of his lessons. "I want to show you something."
He took her to the back of their room where his desk was. When they reached the desk, Doctor Cornelius took a case out and unlocked it.
"Do you remember when I told you of the Pevensies visit with Father Christmas?" She nodded. "Do you remember the gifts they received?"
She nodded again. "Lucy received a dagger and a healing cordial, Susan's got her bow and arrow set and a horn, and Peter got his sword, Rhindon, and a shield. Why do you ask Papa?"
He did not respond with words. Instead he reached in the case and pulled out an item.
"Is that-" Y/n gasped, "Queen Susan's horn!"
"Yes," her father responded. "I found it on one of my many expeditions and assumed it was hers." Y/n watched the horn intently as her father held it. "After further research, I have determined it is indeed the horn of legend. I have kept it here because I felt a day would come when we need it, I still feel like that."
"And when you put this horn to your lips and blow it, then, wherever you are," Y/n quoted the story her father told her as she reached out and touched the horn," help of some kind will come to you."
