⎾ Chapter Thirty-Four: I am listening to myself and I sound like a QUEEN! ⏌
SECOND MONTH
"Good morning sweetheart," Tia smiled, watching her daughter strode down the stairs with the laziest gait to ever exist.
Iris responded with a simple eye roll as she chucked on her hoodie, covering basically her whole face beside her eyes.
"Do you want some breakfast?" Tia blinked softly before smiling again.
Iris said nothing again. She just sat down.
"I made your favourite..waffles with the-"
"Where is mum?" Iris interjected, pushing forward her plate of waffles, letting Tia know she wasn't hungry.
"I'm right here-"
"My other mum, geez mum, you can be so clueless sometimes!" Iris irked, removing herself from the chair and heading over to the kitchen looking for something else to eat.
It had been a whole week since the Zodiacs went home and well Iris, she was different. Cold, distant, detached, moody and hella sad.
"She went grocery shopping, she'll be back-"
"God, I didn't ask when she'd be back!" Iris shrieked.
Mood swings. It was like she was going through puberty all over again but this time it was worst. Whatever Tia did, even the slightest thing would piss Iris off and send her hating her life even more.
"Are you going to see your friends today?" Tia asked, diverting the subject to something hopefully better.
"Nope, kinda depressing seeing them all in pain." Iris snorted, deciding to put on the kettle.
Tia let out a hasty breath, "Umm, well then, Savannah called-"
"I told you I don't want to talk to her or anyone! God, is it so hard to listen to me sometimes!" Iris cried, storming off.
Tia followed her up the stairs, her patience something ever mother admired. She rushed into Iris' room before she could shut the door and lock herself in, something she'd been doing for the past few days.
"Iris!" Tia screamed, closing the door of her room and watching her teenaged daughter hide under her duvets.
"GO AWAY!" Iris screamed.
"What the hell has gotten into you? I've been so patient with you for the past week but I have had it with you!" Tia lectured, stepping closer to the edge of Iris' bed.
"I don't want to talk about it!" Iris squealed.
"Well, you're going to have to talk about it eventually!" Tia yelled, ripping off the duvet to reveal Iris with nothing but a monotone expression on her face.
