Ch.13

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck." Everything is too bright. Damnit why can't life have a dim switch? It would be so much better.
"Language." A red blur says. I blink my eyes until they clear up and I see Pyrrha standing above me.
"English. Or would you prefer French? I am bilingual."
She rolls her eyes at me," Do you plan on attending class or staying here given the events that occurred yesterday?"
"I'll sleep in Ports. And every other class besides Goodwitch's. Then I'll kick someone's ass."
She leers at me before sighing," Very well. You have one hour to prepare for class." I got dressed and decided to keep my mask on for today. And I had my goggles on so when I fall asleep they wouldn't see my eyes closed. And I kept my promise of sleeping through all of my classes. Nora woke me up and dragged me to the cafeteria for lunch. I didn't eat but I did drink like a horse. And this time it was alcohol free. Blake glanced every now and then at me. When I'd catch her I'd glare until she looks away. Eventually they finally mentioned something interesting. That Vacuo students are already here for the Vytal festival. That and they kept talking about a dumb dance that's coming up. Bleck. After a little bit I head to Goodwitch's class early. She is in there at her desk working on something.
        "Do you mind letting me have the first fight today?" She looks up from her work.
        "Of course. Is there any opponent you wish to face in particular?"
        "Nope. Just want to pound out some frustration. It's your choice on who will be making it a challenge."
       "Very well then." I go and get changed already before taking my seat and waiting for a few minutes. The bell rings and students slowly file in the classroom. Soon as they all arrive and are settled Goodwitch makes the announcement.
        "Someone has already volunteered to participate in the first match of the day. Does anyone wish to face Mr.Devil?"
       "I'll put him in his place." Cardin says standing up.
       "I asked for a challenge Goodwitch, not a warmup." The class oohed at my response.
       "Then maybe Ms.Nikos and Ms.Valkyrie would fair as better opponents. Does anyone wish to join Mr.Devil to face against the two?"
       Blake stands up and is about to speak before I cut in," I'm more than happy fighting alone."
       "Very well then." The two ladies go to get ready. I yawn and saunter over to the fighting area, not even bothering with a weapon because of Pyrrhas ability. The two emerge with their weapons ready. "The match ends when all of a teams aura is gone. Now. Begin."
       Nora rushes at me with her hammer. She swings it from the side at me and I hop over it and deliver a kick to her jaw, using it as a launch pad to flip and land a few feet away. Pyrrha comes at me from the side. She thrusts Milo in its sword form and changes it into a spear in attempt to complete the thrust. I use my fist to bat it away and turn it into a left hook to her ribs. Then all of a sudden I'm rocketed into the wall. I hear a few ribs crack thanks to Nora. Pain runs through me, like a nagging bitch that won't go away. I don't bother with using aura to patch me up. I want this fight to last as long as possible. I get up and get into a lazy fighting stance. Pyrrha jumps and throws her spear at me. I manage to catch it and look at Nora whose running to me. She raises her hammer above her head and I activate trigger. I sweep the spear under her legs so she falls and hit her in the stomach with the butt of the weapon. Turning to Pyrrha she is about to shield bash me. I spin off of the face of the shield and, with it in sword form, slash at her leg and bicep. Pyrrha recovers and faces towards me. I switch Milo and twirl it in its spear form. She gets in a defensive stance when Nora jumps over her with an overhead swing. I activate trigger again. I step forward and crouch before springing up, jabbing the butt of it into Nora's diaphragm so she dropped her hammer and flies into Pyrrha's shield. I drop the spear and grab the hammer. I turn it into its grenade launcher form. Nora gets up and looks at me. She gives me a nervous smile and waves. I shoot one at Pyrrha's shield. It sends her flying and into the wall, destroying her aura. "Damn. I like the way you think Nora." I toss her weapon and get into a lazy fighting stance again. She gives me a confused look before rushing me. She sends me flying into a wall again. I roll over, coughing up blood. My body is now screaming in pain telling me"GIVE UP! JUST GO AHEAD AND DIE ALREADY!" Not today bitch. Blood starts leaking out of the fabric of my mask. Nora drops her weapon and rushes to me.
       "Mr.Devil is unable to continue. The winner is-"
        "Haha-Hahahaha-HAHAHAHAHAHA,"  I start laughing. My ribs are howling like a bitch but I'm still laughing," I'm not done yet Goodwitch. Look at the screen. My aura is still 100 percent. The fight continues. Nora, grab your hammer."
       "But-"
       "I've gone through worse Nora. I want this." I say standing up. I take my shirt off, showing them all of my scars throughout the years. The bullet holes, burns, cuts, and more that riddle my body. I use about 25% of my aura to heal some so they'll stop worrying. Nora moves over to her weapon and grabs it before looking at me with a concerned expression. I pound the bottom of my fists together twice and get into a fighting stance. Nora rushes at me. I activate trigger. She is about to hit me with her hammer and I channel my aura into my upper cut, sending her flying.
        "Both Ms.Valkyrie's and Ms.Nikos' aura has been depleted. Mr.Devil is the victor." I walk over and help Nora up.
       "Why did you take it that far? That was dangerous. You could've died." She asks me
       "I fight like every battle is my last. It's how I was trained. Forget yourself and win. The mission is what's important, and I have to treat every battle like one so when I face my last, they won't get off so easy."
        "That sounds super dedicated and heroic. And an awful way to live."
        "It's not living. It's surviving." I walk away and grab my shirt. I go and get changed before taking my seat and start sleeping. Class ends and I walk to the dorm. There Ozpin is sitting on a bed.
        "Your solo dorm is ready. Your stuff is already there. It is the one right next to this on on the left." He walks right out. Jnpr walk in. I inform them as I brush past them. Opening the door it's a plain room with my very few things inside. I flop on the bed.
       "About damn time."
