Chapter 1

After I can home from a tiring 1 mile walk, made myself a cheese sandwich, and scrolled through my notifications, I felt a violent buzz emit from my phone.

It was a WhatsApp message from Jack, a somewhat close friend.

Jack
Guess who just kissed a girl

Shit you beat me to it

Jack
No swearing in this Christian chat

Right right. So whose
the unlucky girl?

Jack
She's a friend from Scotland

Ah ok.

The bitter taste of jelousy I tasted wasn't small.  After all I was a 15 year old who hadn't been asked out once in his lifetime, let alone kissed. I was in desperate need of a girlfriend and I couldn't find one.

My phone buzzed again. A new message on the Storm Trooper chat group.

Jack sent a picture

Jack
Look at this

Jason
Wow

Geez Louise, stop bragging
about it. You probs molested
her.

Jack
What does that mean

It means you forced           her to be smooched by you.
Did you ask her before
k

issing her?

Emma
No he just kissed her by
by the airport when we
we're saying our goodbyes

Thought as much. I can't
believe a 10 year old
Has more experience in
kissing than I have

Jack
So that makes me
The only person whose
kissed anyone apart
from their parents

What? Jace you
haven't kissed a girl either?!

Jason
No I haven't 😭

Woah that surprised me.
You're like an old geezer Jace

Got to go now. My mom
will be back any minute
and she'll get pissed off if
she sees me on my phone.
Bye!

Jack
No swearing in this
Christian group!

Jason
And you're a little kid

To a casual observer who had just peaked at my text messages Jack might have actually sounded offended, but it was an ongoing joke in our group.

Jack was also not a 10 year old kid but a 14 year old teen, which made him one year younger than me.

In our group, Storm Troopers, there were 5 group members: Jack, Emma, Jason, Robin and I.

We had gotten to know each other through an outdoor activity lesson after school. And even though that had stopped a few months back we were a tight knot of friends and we still saw each other.

At the age 17 Jason was the oldest of us, followed by my 15 years of age before Jack and Robin who were in the same year of highschool, and then the 13 uear old Emma who was the youngest of us .

We all weren't the most social butterflies in our year, apart from Robin, once we got to know each other it was a must that we stuck together. That didn't mean we didn't have any other friends but still.

I finished my cheese sandwich before putting my plate in the sink and then moved onto a reading assignment for English.

My main objective now was to find a girl I could kiss to put on to my WhatsApp and get that off my check list.

I could do that. It couldn't be that hard to get a girl to like me, right?
