A/N

Guys I just cried at my own writing because I read this chapter with the song in the chapter title playing, and oh my god if it doesn't capture the mood perfectly!

********

I found myself on the first floor staring into the face of my father.

"Dad?" I said in disbelief.

"Nice shirt." Was all he said, and looked down to notice that I was still wearing Ryan's hoodie.

"Huh, oh thanks." I blushed and quickly took it off.

"I can't believe your mom would let you wear stuff like that." He said stuffing a doughnut in his face.

"I found it in the back of my closet." I lied and walked closer to him.

"Oh, have you made any friends at Bishop Gorman yet?" He replied reaching the box of doughnuts out to me.

"You know the Ross family down the street?" I asked him.

"You mean George and his son?" My dad raised a brow, and I nodded my head.

"Yeah, I'm good friends with their son." I was desperate for mom to get home.

"Oh, what about Danielle? Is she still around or did she go out of state?" My dad's curiosity had been peaked.

"Who?" I was puzzled.

"Ryan's mom." My dad corrected.

"Oh, I don't know, he doesn't really like to talk about his family." I said before biting into a doughnut.

"Where's your mom, sweetheart?" He asked and I have him an "I don't know" gesture.

"I'm going up to my room, mom should be home soon, sit down on the couch if you want." I said, walking up the stairs.

I entered my room and pulled out my phone, I tossed Ryan's hoodie on my bed and laid down next to it.

I pulled up the texts between Ryan and I.

Guess who showed up at my house!
Who?
My dad.
Wow. Where's he been?
Hell if I know.
Oh. Sorry for asking.
It's fine. I gtg. Bye, Ry.
Bye, (Y/N).

I debated on calling Ryan, but I heard my mom pull up. I watched from my window as she rushed into the house. I made my way to the staircase, hunkering down, I watched them. She asked him where he'd been all this time and he told her Mexico, then they hugged and started screaming at each other. All of it was so confusing. She yelled at him about how she had a kid to care of and needed him all these years and that this had taken a big effect on me. I made sure my steps were light, but fast as I rushed back to my room.

He said that he's been in Mexico, they hugged, and now it's a screaming match. Ry, I don't like this.
It's just because he's been gone, let them get it out of their systems.
Can I come over?
Of course.

I slipped Ryan's hoodie back on and ran downstairs, "Hey mom I'm going to get coffee with Beverly."

I slipped on my Converses and rushed out the door, I heard her mutter an okay go ahead before I shut the door. In about five minutes I had ran to Ryan's, he was sitting at the bottom of his driveway, waiting for me.

"Are you okay?" He asked, hugging me tightly.

"Yeah, just a little inconvenienced and out of breath." I replied hugging him back.

"Do you think you'll need to stay the night?" He asked.

"I don't know, I'll see how bad it is when I get back. Do you want to go get coffee? I can invite Beverly and Curtis." I laid my head in the crook of his neck, trying to catch my breath, and crying.
