chapter 8: back to school part II

Aubrey yelled down at us, "Aria! Its six, and we still have to go get a change of clothes!"

Helix rolled his eyes and glared up at the ceiling as he leaned back against the back of the couch.

I sat up and looked over at him.

quick decision.

I grabbed his face and kissed him. It was over as quick as it began. I got up and met Aubrey outside. We went to her house, and changed.

I grabbed my black Iwabo tee, my red and black checkered skinnys, black studded suspenders, and my lowtop Chucks.

Aubrey wore a pink v-neck, a blue jean skirt, rainbow nerd glasses, and her Mary J's. She looked pissed when she got in the car. She looked over at me and said, "All we did was talk about going to the Vans Warped Tour together, okay? We werent doing anything bad."

I nodded, and drove back over to Helixs' house to pick up him and Jeremiah. Helix sat in the back with Jeremiah, and Aubrey and i sat in front.

When we got to school, i let out a sigh. we werent late.

Helix showed Jeremiah to his first class that they had together, and he practically had to have Jeremiah tell her to go with me to class so she wouldnt be late again. She looked a little mad about it, but we all had seventh period together...and turns out fifth period as well. Helix gets to meet the air-head that fell from her seat two days ago, yay.

fifth period came around and Helix and Jeremiah walked in three seconds after the bell. they sat in the back.

about five minutes til sixth period, the girl i punched looks over at me and says, "Your bruise is healing nicely, Freak...would you like to have another one?"

"I see yours hasnt from where the floor hit you in the face...by the way, you arent missing any teeth right, cause i think i see one under your desk..." I said, smirking at her.

she looked down under her desk like and idiot, and sneered at me when she didnt find a tooth.

"You must be seeing things, Freak, maybe you should see the nurse."

"Your nose is crooked, can i help you fix it again...hell, it might even look better than it did before i hit you the first time." i said, smiling at my desk.

that shut her up, but she continued to glare every once in a while. The bell rang, and Abrey walked ahead with Jeremiah. Helix caught up with me.

"What was that girl saying to you?"

"She keeps making snide comments, so i just shut her up." i explained.

He looked over at me funny. i shrugged and waved bye as i went to sixth period.

Seventh period was boring as hell. ugh.

When the bell rang, we all booked it out of there.

When we got to Helixs' house, he asked if i wanted to come over and help him in the gardens. I nodded and dropped him and Jeremiah off. Then i dropped Aubrey off, and headed back.

Jeremiah was out to an auction with Helixs' mum. His dad was at the grocery store, meaning we were alone.

We sat out in the gardens and clipped the thorns off of the rose bushes. Then we sat on his roof and ate macaroni and cheese and listened to Snow White's Poison Bite. Jeremiah came up after he and Helixs' mum got home. He brought out a lollipop for each of us and we sat on the roof watching the sunset. Jeremiah leaned backwards and stared at the stars. Helix did the same. I felt awkward being the only one not laying down, specially cause i was in between them, so i layed down.

My phone rang five minutes later, a call from Aubrey.

"hello?"

"yeah? whats wrong?" i ask.

"your dad is at the house and he has a gun to my mums' head."

I shot up, and jumped down from the roof about twenty feet, and landed on my feet.

"Ill be there in five." i hung up.

"Whats going on?" Helix asked jogging out of his house, followed by Jeremiah.

"my dads got a gun to Aubreys' mum, and im going to teach him not to fuck with my friends."
