// real life //

just like yesterday, peter was at the counter looking at his phone.

"babe, look at this," peter said when timothée came downstairs. he flipped the phone to show him the video he was looking at.

normally, timothée would laugh like peter. he would do that even if the video wasn't funny; he just loved the smile plastered on peter's face.

but today, oh today, he was still pissed off and he just ignored him.

"did you let peach out," timmy said, not looking at his boyfriend.

peter frowned. "yeah, of course what kind of dog dad would i be if i didn't?"

timothée, again, ignored him and opened the door. "peach! time to go outside."

the italian greyhound barked happily and ran out to him.

the ground was still damp from yesterday's rain showers. peach was not enjoying that fact at all.

timothée heard peter open the glass door that lead to the back door.

"timothée," peter said.

the brunette looked at his boyfriend. "yeah?"

"done with the silent treatment are you?"

timothée nearly smiled.

"i suppose."

there was an awkward silence.

"so what's wrong?" peter asked.

timothée snorted. "really?"

peter nodded.

"did you even notice me leaving?"

peter nodded again. "i did."

timothée raised his eyebrow. "did you really?"

"i did."

"why did you lock the door?"

"i thought you were asleep upstairs."

"really?"

"yep. you didn't come in so when i was getting a snack i thought you went upstairs. and when i called your name, you didn't respond so i thought you were asleep. peach too."

peter put his hand onto timothée's shoulder and sighed.

"i love you, okay. i didn't mean to lock you out of the house."

"i know. i love you too."

suddenly those words were foreign.
