Mike's POV:
It's now December 22nd and i have one more game before our holiday break. I just got back from the jewelry store with Ivey and Carole and I think the ring I picked is perfect. I already had a ring picked out but I wanted their input because they know Carrie best, but they loved the ring so much. They help me with the ring size and the shade of the diamond but that was pretty much it. Now as I walk around my jacket feels so much heavier, not because the ring itself is heavy but I'm keeping this surprise. It'll be tomorrow. Tomorrow night. I go to Bridgestone Arena for our game a little early because I'm nervous. I'm walking around after I drop off my gear and think how awesome it'd be to play for the Predators so I could be closer to Carrie. As I'm walking around, the owner and manager sees me and we begin talking. We walk to their offices and I talk to them about my career goals and such and it was an informal meeting but made me feel really hopeful.

After we were done, I went to the locker room to get suited up for practice and some of my other teammates were there. At the game I look up and see Carrie in her box and it just makes me so happy she supports me like she does. Hockey and the whole no teeth thing and the fighting isn't for every girl. We end up winning 4-1 and I made three of the goals. After each one I look up at Carrie and point to her and she blows me a kiss. After the game, I get washed up and come outside and see my beautiful girlfriend waiting for me. I drop my stuff and she runs up to me and jumps in my arms and wraps her legs around my waist. I kiss her like I haven't seen her in years and so passionately that when I let go I have to catch my breath. I'm breathing so heavy but whisper to her, "I love you so much Carrie Marie!" "Woah, that was... Amazing. I love you too! I've missed you so much." I let her down and as she's touching my shoulders she touches my heart. "Baby are you okay?! Your heart is racing!" I could see the worry in her eyes. "It's because I love you so much. You always make my heart race. You always take my breathe away. I never thought it was possible to feel this way." She grabs me tight and begins to tear up. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" "I don't know... You've done something pretty bad to be stuck with me." And we both laughed.

We left and got back to her place. I always stay there when I'm in town. When we got home, she poured us a glass of wine and we talked. After a while we went to our rooms: her to write, me to think. I opened my bag and took out my hand written notes I had prepared. 'Tomorrow is the day my life changes forever.' I think to myself. I keep thinking about my plan and how everything needs to be in place.

Mike's POV:
The next morning Carrie had to go meet up with some of her crew to discuss her upcoming tour and I had the day off. I met up with Ivey and started setting everything up. I made reservations at one of Carrie's favorite restaurants and picked up the roses I ordered. It was a beautiful sunny day, a little chilly but no breeze thankfully. I started putting all of my handwritten down on the ground spreading the red, white and pink rose pedals down all along the way.

It's now four o'clock and Carrie's just getting back. "Hey Mike. How was your day?" She asked as she walked over and kissed me. "It was great, how about yours?" "It was really good! I'm so excited for this tour." "Ah that's so great baby. Look beautiful, you look gorgeous already but tonight we're going out so I want you to get all dolled up. I have to talk to you about something." A smile ran across her face from ear to ear. "Okay!" And she ran to get ready. An hour later and Carrie was just putting on the finishing touches of her make-up. I called Ivey, "Hey! She's almost done. We'll be there in twenty." Carrie walks down the stairs to the living room and she looks STUNNING! I'm in awe of how beautiful she looks. I can feel my heart racing out of my chest. I walk up to her and grab her waist and kiss her with such intensity, it's electrifying. When we let go, we're both surprised by the kiss. We don't say anything, except smile at each other and walk hand in hand outside. I open the car door for her and we start driving. She tells me about her day. And before you know it we're outside the restaurant. The sun is starting to set. "You know what babe, let's take a walk before dinner. Let me just run in and tell the hostess to push back our reservation." I run inside and see her patiently waiting for me. I text her, "Start walking towards Main Street and go from there... I love you." I see her open the text and then look around confused but she does as I instructed. Now I have to get over to meet Ivey.

Carrie's POV:
So Mike told me to start walking to Main Street and I did. Then I noticed a note on the ground and I picked it up. "Carrie: keep walking until you no longer see the long path of notes and roses. Pick up each note as you pass it and make sure to read it." Hmm I don't know what this is but I'm intrigued. I do as I'm told and I see another note a couple feet in front of me. I pick it up, "These are a few of my favorite things" I walk to the next note. "Your smile." Continue to the next note, "Your laugh." "Your sense of humor." "Your love for animals." "Your kind heart." "The love you have for your fans." "Your passion for music." "Your passion for life." "Your love for God." "Your family." "The way you look at me." "The way you treat Penny and Ace." I've been walking about a mile now and the notes and roses continue to lead me as well as the setting sun. I can't believe Mike did all of this. I'm in tears now. I have to have at least 50 notes in my hands. And with each one I get more emotional and they get more sweet and personal. I reach the final note and all it says is "You. You are my favorite thing." I look up and there's a trail of roses that lead me to Mike a few feet ahead of me. As I walk closer, "Mike.." Is all I could manage to get out. When I reach him I go to hug him but he stops me. He takes a deep breath. "Carrie Marie Underwood. I love you with all of my heart. I have so much appreciation, respect and love for you it's crazy. You inspire me and you make me want to be a better person. I want to thank you for loving me in a way no one else ever has or ever could. I want to spend every day of my life making you as happy as you've made me. There is only one thing I want to change about you, and that's your last name." And he gets down on his knee, oh my gosh. "Carrie Marie Underwood, will you marry me?"
