You're dead to me...

RECAP:

{{I wasn't going to let Ryan's name go away in vain. The man I loved was dead and I couldn't help but feel that his killer could go on unpunished.}}

Chapter 2:

The first thing I did when I arrived at Finley College was closing my eyes and resting my head on the dashboard. I didn't realize how tired I'd be. I got out of the car after ten minutes of resting and collected my small suitcases. I didn't pack all that much. I'd need to buy more clothes when I had overwork my other ones. I slung my backpack over my shoulder, locked up my mustang and dragged my belonging behind me.

"Hello there and welcome to Finley College. I'm Helga Hufflebanger, the head of the college." A plump, grey haired woman with blue eyes greeted me as I entered the large glass doors of the head office.

"Hello Miss, I'm-"

"April, I know dear." she chuckled. I smiled weakly. "Im so glad you decided to come."

"Well my original plans were kind of... Shattered. So umm, what do I do now? Do I go to a class right away?" I asked curiously.

"Well I'll hand you a key to your dormitory and a map of campus right now so you can settle in. You don't need to do any classes today seeing as you have arrived so late."

"Yes I'm sorry about that. I had a funeral to attend to." I said slowly, trying to stop the tears spilling from my eyes.

"Oh I'm so sorry dear. My condolances. Do you feel okay?" she asked me sympathetically.

"I'll be fine." I shrugged, wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Well if you ever want to talk about it, there's a councillor's office off to the east wing of campus." Mrs Hufflebanger smiled sweetly.

"I'll keep that in mind. Thankyou." I nodded.

"Oh and once you have settled into your dormitory you will need to move your car to the students car park. You took a teacher's space by parking at the front."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'll move it right away." I said as I headed back towards the large glass doors.

"Its alright, you cab leave it there for a while. Miss Grey isn't coming in today," she smiled. "just make sure you move it by the end of the day."

"Will do Mrs Hufflebanger." I smiled meekly.

Hufflebanger gave me a small, metallic blue coloured key and a map of the campus before sending me off to get used to my new surroundings.

I'd already missed half of the first term of college, but I didn't really mind. I'd just have to work hard and try to catch up on anything I have missed. I usually thought that a person would guide a new student to their dormitory, but I must have gotten that confused with college movies.

I shrugged and walked around the campus, deciding later that I'd settle in to my dormitory. I just hoped I didn't have to share with anyone.

The college was very beautiful. It was very large and was made of oak timber. The doors were either glass, or auburn wood colour. The college fit in well with the forestry behind it. The colours blended well together. There were few windows on the walls of each classroom. Probably to prevent students from getting distracted. The pathways were perfectly smooth and the grass was cut very neatly and bright green in colour. There were tables set outide of what I guessed was the cafeteria and many indoors. I pressed on with my exploration.

The smell of wild flower filled my nose and I hummed happily as I walked on. There wasn't very much to explore of the campus. There were just mainly lecture rooms, classrooms, offices, a sports oval and also many dormitories spread evenly through the campus.

I sat down on one of the high benches of the sports oval. It felt like I was at a professional football game stadium.

I looked down and admired the view. Past the oval were beautiful trees and shrubbery. Whilst the forestry did look very beautiful, I started weeping at the small reminder it gave me of my last memory with Ryan.

Silent tears slid down my cheeks. The sun was hidden behind the clouds which made the campus look alot more gloomy than it did when I first arrived. I sighed bitterly and dragged my suitcases behind me, pulling my hood over my head and slinging my backpack over my shoulder.

I headed back towards the front of the college to move my car. The students parking was much larger than the other ones due to the fact that there were so many students at campus. I found a good parking spot next to a fully grown pine tree and locked the car before trying to find my way back to the dormitories. It had taken me ten minutes to finally find my way to dormitory number 619. I dumped my bag on the floor and pushed the key through the key hole. I heard a soft click and slowly turned the doorknob, ready to finally start my college life.

"Oh, you must be my new roommate." a short girl smiled at me as I entered the room.

"Hi I'm Abigail." I said after bringing my belongins inside. The room was very bright inside. It was painted a dull beige colour but the walls were covered in icky Twilight posters. There were two bunk beds on either side of the room. There was a small desk in the middle of the room, probably used for studying. I noticed an I-pod dock set on the left corner of the table.

The carpet was light brown in colour and there were two pink beanbags at the foot of each bunkbed.

None of the colours exactly matched but I didn't mind too much.

"I'm Stacey," the girl smiled. She had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She looked very pretty with her curly hair let out. "Megan and Tamara should be here soon. I had a free study period and they're still in class." she giggled.

I smiled at her and looked towards the bunkbeds.

"Oops, sorry. You don't mind top bunks do you? All the others have been taken except the top left one." Stacey shrugged.

"Oh that's fine." I yawned. I placed my suitcases next the the beanbag and climbed my way up to the top bunk. I sighed tiredly as I flopped onto the bed.

Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all.
