He sat in his room over the weekend thinking only about her. Only about what she said. Monday came too fast when got to school he noticed she wasn't there. At first he wondered if she was avoiding him. Surly it had to be something more. after school he went to the beach to see if she was there. She wasn't. He went to her house and knocked on her door. She answered she looked pale and thin she was covered in bruises and cuts. Her eyes were dark she looked horrible. She glanced up only for a second and saw him and looked back down
"you need to leave now hurry before they get back" she said in a soft but hurried tone
"No it's not safe what happened" he said.
She looked at the floor and said "please just go you're not safe" and she began to shut the door,
but before she could he put his hand on the door and replied "no what's wrong" she wouldn't say.
She continued to warn him to leave. Eventually she shut the door on him. He stood there for a minute in shock and began to walk home quietly weeping to himself. She shut the door and began crying as she leaned up against the door and heard him leave. Not too long after she heard her brother come home with his friends again and as usual they were high. They would precede to treat her horribly. Soon her father would get home drunk and treat her the same if not worse.
