The next month started the first day of hero school. She was glad that she got in, actually beyond happy. She was ecstatic. Kaoru quickly got ready for school. She got dressed in her uniform, adjusting it ever so often since it was still a little too big on her. She ate a piece of buttered toast along with a cup of orange juice. And lastly, she put a bit of makeup on to hide all the supposed 'flaws' as much as possible. After that, she was ready to go.

She arrived at school one minute before the bell rang. She ran as fast as her legs could take her to her new classroom. In her mind she wondered if the others were going to like her or not. Would they accept her? Would they be nice?

Well, I don't know about that Bakugou guy.

She slammed the door open, grasping everyone's attention. A slight blush crept onto her cheeks of the judgement she's feeling. She approached her home room teacher, Aizawa, to ask about her seat. All he did was point to an open desk next to the arrogant ass. He just scoffed when she was about to sit down. Before she did, she turned around to speak to him.

"You know, you remind me of my favorite tv show character. You know Kyohei Takano, the one with the huge ego but secretly a giant pus-"

"Okay, that's enough," Aizawa said, raising his voice, "no fighting on the first day, please."

A hideous scowl still remained on his naturally angry face, but was facing the window. Kaoru slid into her seat, putting her chin on her hand. Jeez, the one time I try to stand up for myself, I get completely shut down by the teacher.

"Today we're going to be taking a test, and the one with the lowest score gets expelled as a consequence."

"Ehhhhh?" The whole class (besides Bakugou) exclaimed in unison.

———

After the test was over, Aizawa admitted that the expulsion part was a lie to motivate them even more than usual. However, she never used her quirk. It wasn't meant for physical power. Aizawa and All Might are the only ones besides her close relatives that know of its damaging power. It was about as effective as Aizawa's erasing ability.

Even though all she wanted to do was relax after those embarrassing moments of failing a couple of the tests, Bakugou wouldn't have any of it. He approached her, his normal scowl plastered on his vile face.

"Kaoru," he spoke, but all she did was ignore him. He rolled his eyes, this time grabbing her arm, causing her to stop in her tracks.

"What?" She asked, annoyance evident in her usual sweet voice.

"Why didn't you use your quirk?" He asked completely aggravated. She didn't answer him though.

She looked into his red, villainous eyes with lust, making his widen with surprise. But, she stomped on his foot and kneed him in the crotch to make him let go of her. He buckled to his knees in pain, holding his hurt private part.

"Next time, if I don't want to answer something, then let me be. Otherwise, I'll do that again," she threatened. She turned around to head back to class.

"YOU DAMN BI-" he started, attempting to swing his fist at her shoulder, but she was quick to grab ahold of it. She twisted it backwards to where his palm was facing him. With an evil grin, she pushed on it forcefully, making his eyes switch from anger to pain in half a second.

"You know, if I push on it even further it'll break, right?" She started. His eyes widened with anger once again, but she started pushing down a tad more, causing his eyes to switch back the way they were before. Only this time his mouth was open, silently screaming 'ow ow ow.'

"Don't test me," she said, moving his hand in the correct position and tossing it at him. She started heading back towards the building where all the others were at.

"What's her problem?" Kirishima asked Bakugou. His cheeks started heating up when he realized he wasn't the only person left. He tried to regain his composure and played his normal annoyed face.

"Did it for no reason. I guess she just wanted to head back to class."

Kirishima chuckled, "I wouldn't blame her."

"OI YOU BASTARD!" He shouted, nearly hitting his shoulder, but Kirishima blocked it.

"I'm kidding, chill. Come on, we're probably late."

———

No one must ever know my secret. I've caused so much damage to other people's lives, and I don't want to cause any more. I wish my mom was here to help me.

She bowed her head and held her hands together at the shrine in her apartment that was dedicated to her mother. With a small smile, a girl approached her and placed her hand on Kaoru's shoulder, but she didn't respond to it. The girl did the same, paying her respects.

"Yuki," Kaoru started, looking up to the girl. The brunette looked down to her, a sad smile spread across her lips. "Do you ever miss mom?"

"Of course I do," she said, looking back to the picture of a thirty-two year old woman.

She was gorgeous for her age. Akane looked like the average middle aged woman, but she was beautiful. Her long, black locks framed her face perfectly, her brown eyes sparkled in the sunlight. The only thing offsetting was the few wrinkles around her mouth and eyes. She was never a really happy person in her past, so she almost never smiled and didn't get much sleep. Because of that, she got those small wrinkles in those places.

"It was because of her that I have my special quirk, the fragrance making."

"But it was because of dad I have mine," Kaoru looked to her hands, her eyebrows furrowing together in an upset expression. Yuki placed her hand on Kaoru's shoulder once again.

"It's okay. He wanted you to have something special that no one else can have."

"But it's also a curse."
