Three days later. Small Chapel.
The doors bang wide open, "Kyungsoo!" shouts Chanyeol. I look back at him, fixing my cuffs as I spun in place, "Oh, Chanyeol. Thank God you arrived just in time. I was worried for a second that I wouldn't have any best man." He saunters his way towards me, placing both his hands on my shoulders, "Is this some kind of bad joke?!"
"What? No, well, sort of, it's more like a bargain." I gibber. Chanyeol pinches the bridge of his nose, "Bargain? What bargain, Kyungsoo?! What crazy stunt are you pulling this time, huh?" I look down my wrist watch, swatting his shoulder. "I'll explain after the wedding. For now, why don't you go and fit in that tuxedo I ordered for you. Hurry, alright? The wedding is about to begin in less than thirty minutes."
"H-Huh?! B-But wait, Kyungsoo! Aiiish." Chanyeol darts a look at the tuxedo, he heaves a restless sigh, "What the hell is going on here.."
Marriage Ceremony. Afternoon.
I place both my quavering hands down, watching the wooden doors open to reveal the woman that I have made a bargain with. The music began playing as she begins walking gracefully down the aisle. I watch as both her invited guests smile and shed a few tears on her special day. But that's the thing, everything laid out here today in this small chapel, is nothing but a fake. A pretentious marriage that she calls her end bargain.
...
Two nights ago, "What I want is..." she trails off for a minute before meeting my gaze once more, "What I want is to get married." My jaw automatically drops, both eyes enlarging from her far-fetched deal, "C-Come again? It's either you said Money or Marriage--" "I said I want to get married!" A pause of silence intervenes the moment.
I blurt out a sudden laugh, slapping my knee as I do. "A-Are you sure you're not on drugs? Me? No, us? Being a married couple? That's a really good joke--" She makes an unexpected stand from her chair, "But I'm serious! I really.. really want to get married. It doesn't matter who I'm married to. And didn't you say that you'll agree to anything just as long as it's not involved in anything that could make you die?"
I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Look, I know what I said, alright? But I really don't understand why you're just throwing something precious like that. I mean, for a girl you must have someone you set on marrying, right? And come on, you're asking a guy to marry you that you've only known for only twenty minutes of your life. You don't even know if I'm rapist or some pedophile, you know."
She folds her arms across her chest, "Then are you a rapist or some pedophile?" "Err, well, not really--" "Then problem solved! You don't have to force yourself to love me, and I don't really have any intention to do so as well. See? It will only last until the bargain is over. Please? Pretty please? This is all I'm asking!" She continues batting her shiny eyes at me.
I place an elbow down the table, pondering quietly, feeling the intense stare she was giving off. I let out a sigh, "Alright. Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you about your decision, okay?" She jumps out her chair, looking like a little kid who received a beautiful present. I roll my eyes, ceasing her from her tiny celebration. I extend my hand for a handshake, "Shake my hand to make it official. Once you do, then there's no turning back, okay?"
She slaps it away, "Shaking of hands isn't my thing." I let out an exasperated look, "How old are you again? Did I just make a bargain with a ten year old kid or what?" Her cheeks enlarge, pinching my forearm, "Instead of shaking hands, why don't we just make it official during our wedding ceremony." I blink thrice, "W-Wedding what?"
She grins, "Wedding Ceremony, stupid. Of course if we're going to pretend to be married couples, we might as well have a fake ceremony, right?" "W-What? Then the prepara--" "Don't worry about that! I'll settle everything and you pay, sounds good, right? You go and invite your friends and I'll invite mine. Let's see, we should get married this Sunday, sounds great! I'm glad you think so! Anyway, I'll be going home now! I'll wake up early to prepare it! Good night! Byeee!~" She makes one firm wave before rushing out the café.
