Hayden knows I don't talk about him. Colton is my crazy ex. I liked him at first but then he got really clingy and always said I was lying. When I broke up with him he freaked out and had his life set on making mine miserable. One time he even tried to run me over in a Kroger parking lot. Hayden and I haven't talked since she got in the car and I know that I'll have to forgive her eventually but she knows that's not okay.When we got home I went straight to my bedroom that I would be staying in for the next week or so. The walls were perfectly painted and the door fit perfectly into its frame. I could never be this wall. I'm not perfect and I don't fit in.
The door creaked open and I looked up to see Daniel standing there. He was wearing a band T-shirt and camo pants. He looked great.
"Grace are you okay"
"What do you think"
"I don't know who Colton was but if he hurt you this bad he didn't deserve to have you. You are so much better than you know"
I don't know what it is about his words but they made me feel confident about who I was... like I was perfect.
We stared into each other's eyes as he Said
"Perfection was created to
make us feel imperfect,
but imperfect, of course,
is the perfect thing to be."
"Wow" was all I could get out before his lips were on mine. They fit perfect. Almost as if they were meant for each other.
"Now that we have that settled go find Hayden and tell her you forgive her"And with that he left. As he walked away a touched my bottom lip wishing his was still there. I snapped out of it fast as Hayden walked in.
"What are you doing"
"WE KISSED"
"WHAT wait does this mean I am forgiven"
"Girl I cant stay mad at you"
We sat in there for about an hour before I realized I hadn't eaten since this morning. Sure it is almost midnight but I was really freakin hungry.
"Hey Danny get down here I want foooooood"
"Danny?" He said as he walked down the stairs smiling. His tooth gap front and center.
"Yeah"
"I like it"
"You better cause you don't get that choice"
In the car...
As we were driving I began to doze off to the sweet sound of Daniel's voice humming along to Perfectly Wrong. It is one of my favorites and the soft tune puts me to sleep.
I woke up to Danny kissing my knuckles.
"Wake up.I didn't know what you wanted so I just drove to In-N-Out."
Isn't he just the sweetest. As we walked in I almost laid on Danny because I was tired. I was so sleepy that when I looked behind the counter I thought I was seeing things.
"Gray Baby how good to see you"
" don't ever call me that again" At this point I was fully awake.
"You used to love it I don't know what's changed"
"Who are you" Daniel said getting protective.
"Colton. Grayson's boyfriend"
"Ex" I said getting more annoyed than I already was."besides what are you even doing here"
"I got into a fine arts college just a few blocks away for acting. You should have tried to get in. We both know how good you are at acting like your in love"
Daniel finally butted in and said"Grace let's just go next door to the McDonald's."
"Thanks BABE" I said just to make him mad and that is just what it did.
"BABE"
"Do you have a problem with it" Daniel said sassily.
"Yeah I do because she is mine" Colton said yanking me so hard I flinched. Daniel noticed and he was even madder.As he pushed Colton up against the wall he yelled "don't you dare touch her ever again" and with that we left.
