The girl was walking home to her house on the same path as usual. When she noticed a different path; the start of it looked pretty and tempting. The girl turned her head back towards her usual path, and felt rather bored at the dullness it provided. The girl couldn't resist turning towards the other path; even though she didn't know where it might lead her. She decided for once in her life to be adventurous. The girl strayed away from her path of safety towards the unknown. She couldn't help but be excited about where this path might take her. For her whole life she had taken the same path and while it had been fun at first. The more she walked it; the more lifeless her life had become. Sure the path probably would one day lead to nice, simple things. Such as a lover who would cherish her and take care of her, but this other path could take her to it quicker.

The girl began down the path and for once she actually had pep in her steps. She walked gleefully and fast. Admiring all the beauty so far on this path. She felt a presence on this path and turned and saw a boy. The boy sat on a stump instead of walking along the path. He looked different from the boys on her uneventful path. He had this dangerous gleam in his eye that screamed adventure. The girl felt a rush of excitement that she had never felt before. She ran over to him and as she approached the boy looked up at her with a mischievous expression. As if he had been expecting her; he got up and grabbed her hand. Kissing it slowly while looking her in the eyes. She felt shock at his boldness. Never had anyone ever done anything like that in all her life. The boy nodded down the path as if asking if she would like to walk the path with him.

She nodded her head eagerly; not believing her luck in finding such a boy. This path had led her to right guy way faster than that other boring path. She wished she had found this path sooner because the girl had been searching for the right boy all these years. They continued down the path and the further they got the more it changed. She felt unease as the path became slightly darker and she looked up at the sky. She saw storm clouds hanging above them looking like it was going to storm at any moment. She then turned to the boy in fear but when she did he looked completely different. No longer was a boy standing there. Instead a monster had taken his place. Looking at it's toothy smile which had once been a smirk and it's evil gleam which had once been a dangerous look. She felt a terror she had never felt before. She quickly yanked her hand from the monster's grip and ran off of the path. Into the dark dreary woods and as she did the storm released. The girl kept running and running feeling the monster behind her. The girl never saw monsters on her normal path. She didn't know what to; so she ran towards a tree and climbed. When she looked down she saw the monster throwing an angry fit.

She stayed up there for a while until the storm cleared. She looked down, and saw the boy she had come to love down there. She felt safe again seeing the boy who had led her down this path. Hoping he had come to protect her she slowly slid down the tree. Before she was all the way down she saw a girl appear out of a bush. The girl looked excited to see the boy as well and ran to him. The girl felt disgusted seeing this girl try to run towards what is hers. She watched the other girl run up to him and as he turned she saw him slowly change. The monster was suddenly there again and before the other girl could run the other way. The monster gobbled her down in one bite. The girl watched in agony as she realized that the boy had been the monster the whole time. She hadn't wanted to believe it; not even when she sometimes noticed the glint his eye looked more sinister than dangerous. The girl then waited for him to leave. It took the monster days before he finally gave up. Moving on to his next victim.

The girl climbed down the tree and looked around. She realized she didn't see either path. She would have welcomed the old just as much as the new. Maybe even more so since the boy lived on the new. She was lost in a dark forest with no way of how to get home. For once in her life there was no path to take. The girl just walked aimlessly around the forest. Lost and broken from the boy she loved. She still loved him despite him being a monster and it made her sick inside. Eventually after many months the girl finally found a path. While it was broken and worn down;at least the girl didn't have to worry about seeing the boy. For he was on the path of temptation still; tricking girls and eating them in his monstrous form. She slowly got on the path; she was worn down and dirty. Just wanting to go home and hoping eventually she would get back on a normal path again. Hoping that she never saw that path of temptation again. She cried as she walked the path; just wanting to collapse. Instead she trudged on trying to be strong.
