"Are you okay Detective [L/N]? You seems distressed." Connor asked me when we got back to the station. The whole car ride back was quiet. I didn't say anything to Connor or Hank. I kept thinking about the emotions the Android was expressing after he realized that he was done for. My chest tightened when I remembered his painful expression when he asked Connor to lie.

I swallowed really hard. It's just a machine, [Y/N], nothing more.

"You saved my life, Connor. Call me by my first name— [Y/N]." I said while drifting my eyes to the floor.

"You demonstrated great skill, [Y/N]. You found that deviant faster than my software could progress all the information together." I shifted my eyes back to him and I smiled.

"Awe shucks, Connor! If I could've been mistaken, you're showing some emotions." This caused Connor's LED light to flash yellow.

"Androids don't feel anything." He said with no expression.

"Then why did that android in the attic look terrified?" I crossed my arms together.

Connor quickly fixed his tie. "Isn't obviously, Detective. It's a deviant." For some reason I felt a sharp pain in my heart. After spending hours with Connor, I thought he felt something. Maybe some kind of determination or emotion for the case, but right now I realize he was nothing more than a shallow piece of metal.

"Deviants are androids who have a software malfunction causing them to mimic human emotions. Androids don't feel pain or are they alive, Detective." He continued to say. I was about to respond with a quick 'okay..' or 'get back to work you plastic man' but the chief came in the office area yelling out our names.

"Connor! [Y/N]! You are needed in the interrogation room."

At the interrogation room, Hank was sitting across of the deviant. The only thing that separated me from Hank and the deviant was the glass panel. Hank asked the deviant series of questions but he got nothing. He snapped his fingers in front of the android.

"Say something goddamnit !" He growled and got up. "I can't do this." He left the room and entered the other side of the room.

"We're wastin' our time interrogating a machine, we're gettin' out of it!" Hank yelled out with frustration. I thought of many possible ways to convince the android to confess, but androids can be unpredictable. I bit my lower lip as I stared at the deviant's nonmoving form.

"We can always try roughing it up," Gavin slouched his body on the wall with his arms crossed around his chest, "it's not human."

Connor quickly responded, "Androids don't feel pain but you can damage it. Androids who feel under stress have the tendency to self destruct."

"So they feel nervousness, anxiety, and stress like humans." I said while examining the deviant who was sitting on the chair.

"They are still fucking machines, [Y/N]! I say we use force to question it." Gavin said. Hank who recently decided to sit on a chair gave Gavin a dangerous glance.

"I could try questioning it." Connor suggested. Gavin let out a loud laugh.

"What do we have to lose, Hank" I glanced at Hank and he nodded.

"Go ahead, subject is all yours."

When Connor entered the other side of the glass; everybody stared intently at the interrogation room.

"If your old ass couldn't question the android, I think Connor might have a fighting chance." I said with a smile plastered on my face. Hank let out a chuckle, "Android questioning an android. Sounds like better odds than a human questioning a machine."

I felt two eyes burned behind my scalp. I turned around for a quick second to see Gavin looking at me with hungry eyes. I hissed, "look up there not down at my ass."

Gavin let out a cough and paid back attention to Connor talking to the android.

The android started to confess emotions. How he started to feel anger and fear for the first time, and one day he decided to react. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He felt everything a human would feel if they were in that situation.

"I'm done." Connor said. He got up from his chair and two officers opened the door. Hank got up and went to the other room with Connor.

One of the officers grabbed the deviant's forearm. The deviant flinched and started to resist. The officer tightened his grip and pulled him forward. I ran to the other room.

"Stop! You're making it stressed." I said, but the officer ignored me.

"You're making this harder for yourself." The officer hissed. He pulled harder and the deviant started to shake. The deviant's LED stayed on red. His eyes became wild and he started to bang his head against the metal table until blue blood splattered all over the table. The officer dropped the deviant's forearm in shock. The body falls with a loud thud.

The deviant's lifeless eyes burned into my eyes. "Holy shit" I heard Hank said.

Holy shit indeed
