Chapter 11: How are we going to tell the others?

Mal's POV

Bell, Fairy Godmother and Ben looked at me wide eyed.
"So she changed them?" Ben asked, making me nod.
"My guess is she wants to change up how everyone reacts" I said "Like you were spelled by Uma so she would have thought that Uma can impact your decisions and try to take over Auradon"
"Wow" Ben whispered "Can we fix this?"
"Only people who have read the book can fix it" Fairy Godmother said, looking at me.
"I was 12, I can try and remember" I said "But our best bet is to try and get the book ourselves"
"That would be dangerous" Belle exclaimed.
"I can deal with my mother, she will pay!" I snapped.
Fairy Godmother whipped out her wand again.
"Mal...do not get vengeful, that is a bad-"
"I know, I know...I...I just can't process this"
"Process what?"

I turned around to see Evie awake and the others slowly sitting up.
"Get Rapunzel in now!" Fairy Godmother said to a nurse coming past, making her nod and sprint off.
"Are you guys okay?" I asked.
"Are you okay?" Evie asked.
I sighed.
"I'm fine" I said "I'm not dead so that's good"
Evie glared at me.
"This is not the time to make jokes, what happened to us?" Doug asked.
I stood up and noticed everyone was awake, and looking for their soulmates.
I flinched at the word.
How am I going to tell them?
"Fairy Godmother, would I be able to learn that spell you used on Ben and myself so I can see...what happened?" I asked, trying to motion what happened without giving anything away.
She nodded.
"The words are 'analyse de santé'" she said.
I nodded.
"Thank you" I said.
"Mal, your scaring me" Jay said "What is going on?"
"Good news; my mother knocked us out for 2 weeks" I said.
"And that's the good news? My hair is ruined!" Audrey yelled "And it's your fault!"
"How is it her fault?" Harry demanded "Mal had no say in this"
"Well if Ben didn't take them here in the first place then-"
"-then I would have taken over Auradon as an evil being" I said, cutting her off "Now can you listen to me?"
She grumbled.
"You can be my first subject" I said, walking to her across the room.
I muttered the words and I noticed knowledge come into my head.

Audrey

Age: 17
Soulmate: Doug

WAIT WHAT?
Oh goblins, does that mean-
I quickly used my spell on Chad.

Age: 17
Soulmate: Evie

"Okay, I need a pen and paper now" I said.
"Mal, what are you-"
I ignored Harriet and took a piece of paper and wrote down what I saw and what I predict.

"Mal, I can do it...just tell your friends, they are frightened" Fairy Godmother said.
I nodded and gave her my piece of paper.
"My mother has cursed us" I said.
"With what?" Chad asked "I still have my good looks right?"
I groaned.
"My mother did something which is forbidden...she changed our soulmates" I said.
Everyone gasped.
"WHAT?" They all exclaimed.
Freddy and CJ hugged each other.
"But...how can we change it?" Freddy asked.
"I don't know" I said "Our best bet is to get the spell book my mother used to reverse it"
"Wait...can we find out who they are?" Uma asked.
"Oh course dear" Fairy Godmother said "Are you prepared?"
Everyone nodded as I sat on my bed.
Ben gave me a comforting smile which I smiled back.

"Okay...who wants to go first?" FG asked (A/N it's annoying me writing the full name so I'm shorting it; its Fairy Godmother btw).
"I will" Uma said.
"Yours is Ben" FG said, making Uma stare at Ben wide eyed.
"I wanted Ben to be mine!" Audrey whined, making me roll my eyes.
"Yours is Doug" FG said, making Audrey faint and Doug curse.
"But..." Evie started.
"Yours is Chad" FG said, making both Evie and Chad groan.
"What about-"
"Anthony is with CJ and Harriet is with Freddy"
"Oh hell no" Freddy said, hugging CJ tighter.
"Um...what?" Harriet asked "No offence but I'm not gay"
"Carlos is with Lonnie and Jay is with Jane"
"Mother!"
"Wait what...but we have nothing in common"
"I...love Lonnie"
"What about Jane?"
"So that means..." Harry started and turned to me.
I widen my eyes.
"We're together" I whispered.

Everyone's reaction was different.
Audrey and Chad didn't even care.
Freddy had wide eyes as CJ whispered something into her ear, smirking.
Harriet smirked while Anthony chuckled.
Carlos was frozen in shock.
Evie was death glaring Harry while Doug tried to calm her down.
Ben was in complete shock...well Harry is my ex.
Jay is really angry and Lonnie was holding him back.
Harry...was in shock.
"He can't be with her! Not like last time!" Jay yelled.
I growled.
"Jay, I am fin-"
"He spelled you!"
"No he didn't" I snapped.
"He did Mal, we were all there, you just probably couldn't rem-"
I felt my anger rise in me.
I knew what I was doing.
They believed I was some type of unless-
"Son of Hook, calm her down now!"
"But Ben-"
"Just do it"
I felt arms go around me, making me instantly relax.
"You okay now?" Ben asked from his bed, making me nod.
"Thanks Harry" I said awkwardly.
He immediately let go, scratching his neck sheepishly.
"Um...your welcome?" He asked.
"Change it" Evie demanded.
I sighed.
"Can't we just put the past behind-"
"NO!" Jay and Evie yelled.
I sighed, groaning as I put my head in my hand.
"Can you please shut up?" I heard Harriet said "Just leave Mal and Harry alo-"
"Of course you would support it, you're like him!"
"Excuse me 'princess' but I was the one who got them away from each other!"
"ENOUGH!" I yelled as I looked up, my eyes flashing "I love how your trying to protect me but I'm not a stupid princess! I'm no weak and Harry won't do anything bad to me"
I grabbed onto Harry's arm and started to walk out the room.
"And by the way, potions never work on me" I said as I slammed the door.

Third POV

"Well then" CJ said.
Evie groaned.
"I can't believe she's acting like this!" She exclaimed.
"I can't believe your acting like this!" Doug said "Evie, you can't yell at Mal for a thing that isn't in her control!"
Evie sighed.
"Wait..." Ben asked, looking around at the VKs "Would this effect your...you know...curse?"
Every VK (including former ones) apart from Uma flinched.
"Wait, how did it-"
"He found it out in a book so Harry, Mal and I had to explain it to him" Uma explained "I assume it might"
"We would have to investigate and research it" FG said "We have to figure out why Maleficent would do such a thing and how we can reverse it...until then I recommend trying to get used to your new soulmates as you rest"
"How come Mal and fish boy get to leave?" Audrey complained.
"Because of the magic in her blood, I assume she would recover quicker and pass it on to Harry...it would be the same with Uma and maybe Evie" FG said, "Now get some rest and talk like civil people please"
She walked out, making everyone sigh.
'This is going to be a long day' Ben thought as everyone was glaring at their new soulmates with confusion or hate.
