"You paralyze me every time
I try to find some paradise
I've got to fill the void
And now I'm paranoid
You paralyze me every time
I try to find some paradise
I've got to fill the void
And now I'm paranoid"

His hand feels warmer in mine. His new heart is already beating better, and Dr. Grey says his lungs sound significantly better than before.

His eyes were still closed, the tube still in his throat, as he still isn't breathing on his own.

It's been a week.

Dr. Grey is planning on doing an exam today, along with a CT and MRI to check for brain activity.

I am absolutely fucking terrified.

I kissed the back of Jungkook's hand, since I was unable to kiss his face due to the tubes and wires. I sigh, feeling the familiar lump in my throat, which I shove back down.

"I'll be back tonight, Kookie. I love you. Please, I beg of you, stay alive."

I took out my phone as I exited the room, checking the time. I groaned as I picked up my pace, jogging lightly to my car to avoid being late for my shift.

I checked the time once more, sighing as I still had five minutes before my shift. I leaned my head against the steering wheel. I took a shakey breath before climbing out of my car.

"Tae! You're here, great!" Jin clapped me on the back. I gave him a weak smile before setting my keys in the back, clocking myself in for my long eight hour shift.

My mind was preoccupied with Jungkook. I couldn't help it. I wanted to be with him. I needed to be with him. But I also needed money. Jungkook couldn't work, even if he were to wake up, so I needed to be able to help pay for his medical bills. And if he doesn't wake up, I would still have to pay for the numerous doctor's appointments, and the hospital stay, the surgeries, everything.

"Taehyung? You have a customer waiting to be checked out, I'm busy helping someone, please go ring them out." Jin's voice was demanding, but his eyes showed sincerity and concern.

I shook my head for a second while clearing my throat. "Um, yeah. Sure."

I checked the customer out, only realizing that it was Jimin. Great.

"Hey Jimin. Sorry for the wait."

He smiled as he placed a pile of clothes on the counter. "It's no problem, Tae." I started to scan his clothes, trying to shake the intense stare he had on me.

"What, Jimin? Why are you staring?"

He pursed his lips as he reached for his wallet in his back pocket. "You look exhausted. And have you been crying? What's going on?"

My hands fell to the counter, on top of the folded pile of clothes. "Jungkook, he, uh... it's bad. I woke up and he wasn't breathing, and he was in a coma. He finally got the transplant, but it's been a week and he hasn't woken up yet."

"Oh my God, Tae, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. We saw this coming. He tried to pull away to avoid causing me pain. I'm trying to be strong, so that he doesn't have to feel guilty, when... if... he wakes up."

"He'll wake up. I know it. He just needs to know that you are there for him."

I nodded, placing his items in a bag before taking his card. "Do you, um, want the receipt in the bag?"

He nodded. I put it in the bag and handing it to him.

"Thank you, Jimin. It means a lot that you're willing to help calm me down even though you're my ex, and I'm in love with another guy."

Jimin smiled at me, his eyes turning up into little crescents. "We agreed to be friends after you helped me cope with my mom's passing. It's my turn to help you now." He checked his watch, frowning. "I have to go! I have a hot date tonight!"

I chuckled as I waved goodbye. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket, and I glanced around me, turning around and pulling my phone out, trying to do it secretly.

I instantly frowned when I saw the contact. I slid my thumb across the screen, bringing it up to my ear.

"Yoongi?"

I could barely hear him over the voices in the background. I could faintly hear Yoongi walking out, shutting a door behind him, quieting the chaos. "Taehyung! Jungkook! He-"

"Shit, what happened?" I ran to the back of the store, grabbing my keys and headed to clock out, no longer caring about the rest of my shift.

"H-he woke up."
