I awoke to knocking on my door.

"Uriah sweetheart, there are some people here to see you." My mom's calming tone enters through the cracks of my door. I hop out if bed and head into the living room to face the two people whose clothes brighten up the dark living room, Tara's family.

There they were, her parents, here in my house. Tara's mom looks at me, her bright eyes are sullen, as are her father's eyes. I can't believe they came here.

"Hello Uriah," her father breathes. I feel my chest become heavy. Do they hate me? Blame me for what happened to their daughter?

"Hello Mr. Riley, Mrs. Riley." I sigh.

"It's nice to see you again dear." Mrs. Riley smiles weakly at me.

"I know. It's nice to see you again." I smile weakly. They return weak smiles and sit on the black sofa, Mrs. Fleming's rose dress standing out against the dark sofa.

"Please sit." My mom lays her delicate hands on my shoulders as I lower.

"Please, I am so so so sorry about Tara. I had no idea. It kills me that I wasn't with her. I could have protected her. I could have..." I begin to lose my breath as I begin to sob. I should be embarrassed to be crying in front of her parents, but I'm not. Tara told me that true bravery is being who you really are and revealing how you really feel. These tears are for Tara.

Mr. and Mrs. Riley rise from their seats and I am embraced by Mrs. Riley.

"We know, Uriah. We know." Her mother sobs silently.

"Uriah. We have a question to ask you. It's alright, son." Tara's father looks at me. His face aghast.

"Uriah, are you Divergent?" my heart skipped a beat. How would he know that? Tara wouldn't have told them. They only knew about her, not me.

"W...what?" I stutter.

"Please Uriah. Are you Divergent?" Mrs. Riley takes my hands into hers.

"How did you know?" I demand.

"Please listen. I think I know who took my daughter." Mr. Riley replies.
