Both girls live in LA. Carla dreams to dance while Darla dreams to sing. Since they both want to work in performing, they're roommates. While opposites, they both work and get along very well. But they soon find themselves out of luck when they both lose their jobs, making them both desperate for cash. However, once getting discovered by accident a women in a bar on karaoke night, they both get job offers at an interesting club.
The club is a modern electric swing club, with an animal theme. Everyone is dressed in an animal themed outfit, all in retro swing fashion. They're known for the singers, dancers and interesting music. It gives off a unique but nostalgic vibe. Carla gets hired as one of the dancers/waitresses while Darla gets a job as one of the singers/waitresses. The clubs name is Fox Daddy.
While hesitant at first, both girls took the job. They both end up loving it, but for different reasons. Darla, for the thrill and excitement of the odd and creative location, while Carla for the experience and the pay (which is very high).
The the animal theme, both girls were allowed to pick who they wanted to be. Carla chose the Hummingbird, for it's quick movements and gorgeous feathers. Darla chose the Lyre for it's pretty voice and also the fact it can recreate different noises (Which she finds super cool). When becoming popular, the twins are dubbed the Bird Twins, always known for performing together because of their energy with one another.
