Four children of different mothers all show up at Anna's place, all taking refugee with her from an unknown person. Anna, a sluggish computer programmer, is confused from these children appearance, and at first she tried everything in her power to get them to go away, but allows them to stay when they start to get attached to her and vice versa. She gets strange letters that pays for her entire rent and then some, not knowing who sends them and how their related yo the kids, nor why the mysterious person sent these kids to her to begin with.
Carl: Carl doesn't talk much. He rather listens to music then associate with other, which is fine by Anna. He's very quiet and hard to read, emotionless most of the time. Carl likes to do his own thing, and is much smarter than he looks. However, it doesn't mean he's without emotion, he is often seen clinging to Anna, holding the woman's hand and hugging her at the waist. He openly yearns for Anna's attention and makes it known that Anna is like a mother to him.
Rick: Very energized kid. Likes to play knight fighting a mythical beast. He's very loud, brash and excitable. Fights everything he sees worthy of fighting, which gets Anna in trouble. He's very emotional, short temper and gets jealous easily. He's quickly influenced by what he sees on the television or internet. He has heterochromia, which he's very proud of, claiming that the green one has magic powers that seem to change whenever the situation needs it. Talks about it as much as his scars, which he calls "Battle Wounds".
Debra: Shy, clingy, crybaby. She's nervous most to the time and sticks to Anna most of the time, causing Anna to trip over her most of the time. She gets frightened easily, so she doesn't like Rick much, nor Molly for her mean words. Outwardly, Debra deeply respects and cherishes Anna, is additionally very protective of Anna and wishes to spend time with her as much as possible.
Molly: Very snooty for young girl. She's whiny and manipulative. She also hates her situation an Anna, mostly for her life style. She complains about everything until she gets her way, which gets on Anna's nerves quite often. Very bossy and mean, but deeply cares for the others and Anna during quiet moments.
Anna Moore: Usually dons a stoic expression on her face, though does show aggression when threatened or annoyed. While she maintains a cool demeanor, she has been regarded as kind-hearted and reliable among her friends and colleagues. Level-headed and pragmatic, she stands as the source of reason when dealing with the kids.
