Chapter 5: visiting the doctor
" Sky! Sky?" Willow shimmer burst into their room. Sky Scorch was busy writing some important papers, and did not look pleased to be disturbed. "Yes, dear?" He asked, putting down his pen. "It's about our daughter." She said, worriedly. "She can't seem to lift off the ground - at all...."
Suddenly and unexpectedly, Sky Scorch chuckled slightly. "So what? Why does she need to fly so urgently?" Sky questioned. Willow could not help but feel slightly frustrated. How could her own husband, Scootaloo's father say that? how could he not care about her ability or inability to fly at her age? She took a quick glance out the open window and caught a glimpse of a few fillies, about Scootaloo's age, soaring through the sky. Willow managed to hide her frustration.
"I enrolled her in Cloudsdale's School of Professional Flight, and I just learnt that she has to take an-" "Entrance test?! I should have known. Good schools always have a test!" interrupted Sky Scorch, leaping to his hooves." What are we going to do? The test is tomorrow!" She asked, trotting towards her husband. "We might as well check on her first. Come on." He said and they walked down the stairs.
"Dear, how's it going?" Sky asked in his most cheerful tone as he flew into the backyard. To his surprise, Scootaloo was not there. "Scoots?" He called out again. Suddenly, he heard sounds coming from the roof. Cautiously, he flew to the very top of their cloud house. To his horror, Scootaloo was standing on the edge! "Scootaloo! No!" However, it was too late. With wings unfolded, she leapt off. She flapped her wings with all her might, but to no avail. She wasn't flying. Just as she came spiraling down, a flash of purple swooped in and grabbed her before placing her safely on the ground. It was Willow. " Scootaloo! That was VERY dangerous! Did you know what could have happened if I didn't catch you?! We were very worried!" She scolded. At that moment, Sky Scorch landed beside her. "Your mother is right. That was way too risky. Don't EVER do that again" He said.
Scootaloo remained silent for a while, with tears welling up in the eyes. Suddenly, she broke into a total meltdown. "Mum! Dad! I'm so sorry I caused you to worry!" She sobbed. "It's just that I tried to fly so many times, but I couldn't. I JUST COULDN'T! I even tried to see if I could fly after climbing onto and jumping off the roof! I let you both down! I'm so ashamed of myself!" Her parents looked at each other with worried looks on their faces. Scootaloo had never been seen so shaken before. "Scoots, we know you didn't mean it. What's important now is that you are alright. We love you. "
( THE FEELS, THE FEELS!!)
"B-but what about the flying test? I can't fly!" She continued. "Forget the flying test. You need to rest." Said sky. "Come on, everypony. We are going to see the doctor. " As soon as they reached the best clinic in Cloudsdale, they knocked on the doctor's door and hastily went in, With the tear stained Scootaloo in their hooves.
