I was scared. I did not know what to do. For the first time I felt like I was the last man in this world. There were skeletons everywhere. I tried to stay calm but I couldn't go over the fact all of my friends are dead. I tried to exit the parking lot but the ramp to the lower floor was barricaded heavily, every hole in the parking lot was covered and barricaded. I was unsure if this barricade was here before the nuke hit us because if it did, this would be destroyed. I got to the emergency exits then saw a rifle beside the door.
I thought to myself "Was I really the last human being in the world?" I took the rifle then checked if it was loaded which it is. Luckily, I remembered what an instructor at a gun range told me on how to use a gun. I opened the door then found three fresh corpses that had large bony spikes sticking out of their body. I felt sick just from looking at the bloody corpses but I was lucky enough to find a gas mask beside one of them. I also stole some of their clothes for extra protection outside since I still didn't know who or what killed them.
I wore the gas mask then went outside through the exit door. Every building was empty and almost unstable. I also took a bag that was near the corpses I found earlier which had enough supplies for me to survive a day or two. I explored the area a bit and found nothing so I explored further into the building. I found a nest of large unknown insects in one of the rooms. I felt uneasy so I quickly got out of there then tried to find shelter.
The sun was setting so I had to find a safe place to rest in. I saw a light in the distance so I tried to go closer to find out what it was. Luckily, it was a settlement.
