It has been almost a year since you left Asgard and not a day goes by where you wouldn't think about what you left behind. The world has recovered from the attack on New York, but you could not say that it is at peace. The world is still in chaos, but they have nobody else to blame but themselves - their arrogance and selfishness. You do your best - helping people with your ability, looking for people who have started believing. You found Jane Foster too, you thought best not to reveal yourself. You kept somewhat close to her, but you didn't tell her who you were or that you even knew Thor. You tried to keep a low profile, after Loki's actions that would be the best way to go ahead.

But you weren't quite successful. After a short while you got onto S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar. One day you found a dark figure in your home after returning from your mission. You weren't afraid, nothing could permanently hurt you, but you were curious.

"Hello?" you approached the man and turned on the light. The man was wearing a long leather coat and had just one eye, the other one was covered with an eye patch. He sat on a chair by your kitchen table.

"Hello miss Y/l/n," he greets you and you decide not to correct him on your title.

"How can I help you?" you sit down opposite of him.

"My name is Nick Fury, I'm the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. You have remarkable abilities. Our agents described it as "power to restore biotic organisms to their optimal health". You are Asgardian?"

"Yes, I do have healing abilities, but no, I'm not Asgardian. I was born and raised on Earth, but that was 90 years ago. I have aged well, wouldn't you say?" you joke.

"We do have records of you from a while ago and we know you take the same... mode of transport as Asgardians," he is curious.

"Because it is true, but it is not the whole truth. My story is quite a bit more complicated and... quite long at that. And even tho I would love to share it with a stranger, including the hardest decisions and most painful of situations... I think we should leave it to another day. Why don't you tell me why you're here."

"Earth has recently had to face the truth that there are others out there, vicious creatures that we are not prepared to fight. I am here to make sure that you are not one of those threats and to tell you about the Avengers."

"I know better that anyone in this realm what lurks outside our front door and I can tell you that Earth wouldn't be alone in this fight if only humanity would stop writing the truth off as fiction. And I know better than anyone how stubborn we are as creatures, we refuse to believe our eyes, we refuse to accept help because it is so much easier to just deny it. And I know about the Avengers... I am grateful for them for protecting this realm and its people, but they just got a little taste of what could be."

"We are aware, that's why I am looking for new recruits. You would make a great addition."

"I am not a fighter, not in that sense, I do what I can and my mission is to make humanity a part of something greater so that next time we wouldn't have to fight alone or fight at all, but I am destined to fail because nations are fighting each other, they are so focused on what is right under their nose that they cannot see the big picture," you stop, "I can patch up your wounded, I can fix them so that they can go and fight another meaningless battle, but that is all."

"That would be enough."

Thor returned to Earth once in all that time. Jane had stumbled upon a strange substance that had made her its home. Thor asked if you could heal her, but there was nothing you could do for her. Jane was shocked and a little angry to find out the truth about you, but Thor never told her about your relationship with Loki.
