"You work at a government facility, where they torture people just because they don't follow the rules. Why? And where is Millie? She's not here, did she go back with Jacob and group Beta after the time limit passed?" I asked him, still having trouble wrapping my head around it. "When you and Lisa got into that Hummer, Sammy was going to take you to where your father was and help you get him home. After Lisa got in, though, he saw the men in the back. He stopped me from getting in and tried to get you out but the car had driven away. Sammy told me to run back to the place I had come from and tell everyone what happened. I asked him why he was helping and he said that it was for the protection of the bunker your Nonno created long ago. Apparently his family has been the contacts your family used inside the government ever since the war. He wanted to make sure you got out safe, but he had no chance to say anything else before another car came and grabbed him from behind. I ran to the building and went straight down to the offices. They sent me back up because they knew I was the only one the government would hire on such short notice. They want to know where we live so that they can get rid of us. We have to get all of you out of here right now before they find out. If you take your dad and Sammy, I'll take the girls. We can get out of here without drawing too much attention. As for Millie, we will just have to hope that she went back with them. I don't even remember seeing them after finding the blood."
"Okay, but there are some more rooms on this list that I haven't found yet. Do you know what they are?" I asked him, being sure not to think of my missing best friend and the others. "Oh you're a genius Cassie! I would kiss you but Carter is so worried about you, I couldn't!"
"Well a kiss on the cheek and a hug wouldn't hurt." So he did. "Now, what am I a genius for?" I asked. "You all need to be healthy, so we need to go to the cafeteria. We also need weapons just in case. You guys can all stay in here, while Cassie and I go get some food and weapons." Simon said. "There is no way that I can just carry seven meals out of a government cafeteria without getting caught." I countered.
"There's no need. You already have."
