The Tree

Remi's POV
After feeling myself calm down, I poked my head out of the closet to be witnessed of an empty hallway. Signing I made my way out of the closet to just be knocked over.

"What the absolutely fuck man!" I heard the recognizable annoying voice. Standing up and looking at the slim boy who laid on the floor, I laughed. Opening his eyes and looking up at me, they first went to a calm state then an angry one. "You asshole! I gotten late because of you!"

I tilted my head at the fact that his lateness was being pointed at me. I been here hiding in a janitor's closet. "How?"

"I decided to be the nice guy and wait for my pal for her not to even show up walking and now I'm late!" he shouted pretty angry.

I shrugged my shoulders and began walking the the math hallway. "Well I'm late as well so you're not the only one."

He walked beside me with his hands behind his head relaxing while walking it seems. "Where were you anyway?"

"I gotten a ride from Gina." I answered as the presence beside me vanish. Turning around, Luke was frozen with his mouth open wide. "What?"

"You? Ride? Gina?" he said freezing between words. Catching up to me he began to babble all over again. "How the hell you rode with Gina? Actually... I'm not surprised but are you serious? Wow! Are ya like a thing or something? That'll be totally hot if ya are!"

I was gonna answer him but I'm pretty sure I lost him in his own fantasy world of imaging me and Gina together in bed. Rolling my eyes, I notice I was already by my classroom door. Hitting his arm, I brought him out of it. "Get to class Luke!"

Knocking on my classroom door, I heard the teacher say come in. Walking in I just went to my seat beside CJ who seemed to be snoring her way to dreamland. "Do you have a note Remi?"

"No ma'am, my apologies." I answered hopefully not having to get any consequences for not having one.

"It's fine. Next time I'll be expecting one or it'll become detention, understand?" she said narrowing her sight at me.

"Understood." I said back signing as I laid my head against the desk. As long as I stayed here, the way humans work still confuses me to this day.

"Oh... it's you!" I heard the sleeping person say beside me. "Thought I was gonna have to kick somebody's ass or something."

She was yawning as she say those words but all I did was shook my head, really wanting to just sleep.

"Where were you anyways?" she asks while leaning back in her chair.

"In the janitor's closet..." I said trailing off because honestly it sounds kinda creepy saying it.

She bursts out laughing as she tried to speak. "What the fuck was you doing in there?"

Rolling my eyes, at the humans maturity I kept my forehead connected to the cold desk. I can now see why children sleep like this at school, the feeling is very pleasing.

"I was only hiding in there because of a girl aight?" I said thinking of how Gina would behave on my fumes.

"Nice using of the new vocab word." she started laughing again but I think she realized I wasn't in the mood and stopped. "Why the hell was you hiding from a girl anyways?"

"Because if I didn't the girl would have lost control of her own body and throw herself at me and since this girl is my mate I rather do it right." I said thinking of how are mating experience would feel like.

"No offense Rim but you seriously need to work on being human." CJ said shrugging her shoulders. "Like come on, who believes in having a mate and shit!"

She began to laugh at her comment which started to make my blood boil. How dare she disrespect me and my culture like that. Stupid humans don't know nothing, all they ever do is spill blood to see who can out rule who. Feeling myself lose control, I quickly got up and ran out the classroom. Not running far, I soon bumped heads into someone but luckily I manage to keep my balance as I catch the other person in my arms. Not even having to think about it, I knew it was my mate.

"Ya know, as much as I like you having to catch me, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up with a concussion one of these days." she said holding her head still which seem to hurt a lot. "Why were you running anyways?"

I forgot I was even mad before I bumped into her but I still stayed calm not wanting to scare her. "A friend piss me off."

She gave me that look as I shrugged my shoulders but she laughed and got out of my arms. Holding onto my hands she lead the way. "Follow me!"

We took an exit out of the school building towards the small pack of trees beside the school. She dragged me behind a tree as she took the time to catch her breath. "How are you not out of breath?

"We didn't even run here, it was just a simply jog. Plus, I'm fit!" I said chuckling as I poked her slim body. She giggles as she slaps my hand away.

"Are you going to tell me who pissed you off?" she said bowing her head. I smiled seeing how gorgeous she was leaning on the tree.

In front of her I stood, I laid my hand upon her cheek. "You are very beautiful you know?"

She looks up with a light pink blush covering her cheeks. "You always say that."

"Because it's true." I said leaning in closer towards her face. "A very beautiful creature."

"You know, you still never told me who piss you off?" she said just above a whisper.

"Why does it matter when you can calm me down?" I said looking away.

She shrugged her shoulders blowing her head but I rose it up with two fingers on her chin. Staring into her eyes I notice an empty feeling in them.

Kissing her forehead I whisper, "You know, you still never answered my question if you don't think you'll be mine?"

Her cheeks redden as she looked away innocently.
