So after all that deep and meaningful stuff int he first chapter, well it's more like a prologue, here's where it really all starts. Let me know what you think. Hate it, like it? Let me know.

One Year Later
I woke up in a cold sweat, fully awake now that I had jolted up in bed. I could feel it. The bad taste in my mouth that the dream still left me with. It was Mark again. It had been a year since I ran away, determined that Mark was not going to bring me down. I could still hear him in my dreams yelling down the street as I ran, "Luci! Luci! Get back here! You're not going to get very far!"
Oh but I got far, I ran for hours barefoot, hoped on the first interstate Greyhound bus and rode it until I found myself out of money, out of food and lost in god knows where. I still remember vividly the very second I decided to change things. The very second I decided that I was Luci Hannigan no more, I was Hannah Marsden, I needed to escape life.
I'm not proud of a lot of things in life but I know that was the right choice because ever since then, Hannah has climbed her way back into civilisation and out of the hole that Mark dug for Luci. I met Kristin while travelling and we've been roommates ever since, she's practically a sister to Hannah - to me.
I rolled out of bed, fighting the wave of vertigo that hit and sprinted to the shower. I could hear Kristin in the kitchen and knew I'd slept too long again.
I straightened my black hair and framed my almond eyes with bronze eye shadow, grabbed a pair of faded skinny jeans and a loose turquoise top with a singlet underneath. Fluffed my hair and I was ready. I jogged to the kitchen and spooned a bowl of Choco Pops into a bowl.
"Hannah, you're late." I looked up from trying to stuff my wallet into my handbag to see Kristin looking at me with a big smile on her face.
"I know, I know but at least this time I managed to get out of bed myself right?" I smiled at my best friend.
"Hmmm, I don't know, you miiight have to make it up to me." She smiled mischievously and I knew where this was leading. "How about you come out with me tonight? Please, pretty-please with sugar on top? "
I laughed and said, "For you Kristin, I'll do anything. But first of all who's the guy?" I saw her grimace and knew why she wanted me to come with her tonight.
"Caden. So play nice." She teased.
"Ugh I don't want to third wheel that!" Caden practically hates me.
"Uh-uh you promised, so no backing out." She grinned mercilessly and yanked me out of our apartment door.
I looped my arm around hers and we walked the five minute walk to the university together like we did every morning. University always seems so daunting when you first get there, but Kristin and I have been here for about a month and are starting to realise that this is when you actually get to have fun.
We walked into admin and checked out our mail. One from the bank, one from Insurance, one from the deans office and one from... oh, no. I read the front of it again just to make sure.
"To Luci Hannigan, Care of Hannah Marsden." This can't be happening. My life has just gotten back on track, it's perfect. But I guess for him it's perfect timing if he wants to screw me over again. Someone knew and there was only one person who even knew who Luci was.
Mark.
I quickly shoved the letter into my handbag, being careful not to let Kristin see. I didn't realise I was staring off into space until Kristin called out to me.
