Normal POV
*Tik... Tok... Tik... Tok...*
The clock almost strikes 12 straight yet the birthday boy hasn't yet come to his own party.
'where is he?' that brunette girl asked herself as she fidgeted with her own finger in nervousness.
"1 minutes, 15 seconds, and 5 milliseconds till midnight. I don't think that he'll actually come, Aoko-san..." Saguru said, feeling a bit guilty for telling her this, yet all she did just cast down at the possibility he just said.
'No way... Kaito, you won't start breaking promises now, will you?' she bit her lower lip, feeling upset at the thought.
"I'm sorry, Aoko-chan. But I think Hakuba-kun is right... Kaito-kun might not-" Yet once again, Aoko denies that fact.
"No, Chikage-san... Kaito isn't a liar. We both know that. So, I'm sure he's just running late... He will come for sure... He must come" she whispered in the last sentence, but they could still hear her loud and clear, and they soon felt sympathy for her. But the truth must get crossed.
"Aoko... I'm sorry to say, but Kaito-kun won't come... So, let's just call this a day, alright? We can continue this tomorrow when he's feeling better." Ginzo said as he squeezed the brunette's hands. But to his surprise, Aoko shoved his hands away as he exclaimed, "No!"
"Kaito... h-he'll come... I know he will..." -she said with tears dangling on the corner of her eyes...
"K-Kaito will come... because he had promised me..." she cried. "he promised me..." -and they fell silent afterwards...

that is until Aoko had enough of waiting for him herself.
"I'll look for him!" She declared loudly as she all of sudden ran out of the crowd to search for her friend.
"Aoko!!" her father shouted, but she's not turning back and even fasten her pace.
"I-I'll go with her..."
"Me too..."
"Me three..."
And in the end, everyone decided to follow her steps and began to search for the said brunet...
