There have been many tribes in the world with weird fetishes. During times of hunger and famine, many struggle to survive by eating rats and worms. Never has there been a more devastating thing than to eat your own children during these times. These things do not even sound conceivable, but unfortunately, they are true, and have happened before.
Parents forget that that is the fruit of their love and eat them. Believing this is hard and one would wish that it were just-not-TRUE! Reading around the bible, the people of God that departed from him, received this as a punishment in the old testament. Their enemies would surround their cities and they would not have food, so they then resorted to eating their small ones. There was a story in which the king went to the place and a woman came to him saying the following:
"
26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
27 And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.
29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.
"
2 Kings 6:26-29
Some of these people did this in occult, so there was not truly anyone that could save these children. If some were tender in age, like toddlers or smaller, the children would not have any knowledge of what could be happening or that they needed help, so it went on without anybody truly knowing much of it.
