" To be a princess you mustn't act out of line. Speak only when spoken to. Don't show emotion. Smile politely and nod brightly. Don't let anyone in court know you're confused. Follow your brain not your heart. Put the people in front of yourself no matter what. And don't inter-"

" Yes Ma I know you go over them everyday. And don't interrupt, those are the rules to being a great princess an a fair ruler. I don't see why I even need to learn them, it's not like I'm going to rule a kingdom. For we don't have one. The only way I could rule a kingdom is if I were to marry into the thrown. But you've always told me that would never happen no matter what and that I could find my One, right?"

As Dís heard these words from her daughter she flinched on the inside. Only if her daughter knew what was to happen in 4 days on her 24 birthday. " Yes dear you will find your One, who knows maybe he's a king." She sighed as she said this. For the days to come were going to be hell.

" You may go now your lessons are done for today, but do be back before dinner!" yelled Dís as Lili ran out the door.

Lili was never one for dresses and corsets, but for shirts and pants. Her mother and her always bickered about this. But for these things she went into Fili and Kili's room.

"Hello, Fi? Ki? are you guys in here? Lili asked as she knocked on the door. When she walked in she saw a note on Fili's bed. Written on it:

Lili,

When ever you read this we just wanted to tell you, Keep Out Of Our Clothes. We need them and you have your dresses. Oh and meet us at Blue Ridge we have something for you too do and Hurry!

-Fi and Ki

'They think they can stop me from wearing their clothes by writing me a note.' She snickered as she went through their closest. She pulled out a royal blue shirt that was too big and black pants that were a tad too big and put the on. Then turning around she grabbed Fili's dagger and Kili's extra bow and quiver and ran out of their bedroom.

If her mother saw her this would end in bickering. For she broke the rules. Again

Rule #38: Always dress like a lady no matter how uncomfortable it is. For to look like a lady you must dress like one.

And

Rule #40: Never wield or use a weapon no matter what unless it is the last way to save yourself. For that is why we have men, to protect you.

Their argument would end when her mother would snap at her and tell her something about growing up and being a true lady, but she didn't mean it, and Lili running out the door saying she's had enough and is leaving. Then she'd go hide for a day or two and return home once her mind was clear. But a day or two could last a bit longer, for the last time they had an argument Lili was gone for five days and no one could find her, because if Lili really wanted to be seen during that time she would've let people find her.

But she had to go meet Fili and Kili at Blue Ridge, they had something for her to do to keep herself from getting bored.( But not trouble).

'If I try to sneak past Ma she will some how notice and stop me and that won't end well. But the only way to the front door is through the kitchen.' She thought. 'Or the back door! No I broke that shut last week.'

'The window in my room! It's perfect, it has a straight path to Blue Ridge through the market and past the smithery.' So she quietly turned around and went to the last door on her left. When she opened the door she turned around to shut it without making a sound, then made a straight line towards the window where she threw open the shudders.
