Wakefield Asylum, April 1965

The gates to the Wakefield Asylum opened one last time to let Doctor Fitzgerald in. He was responsible for most of the treatments, particularly in the women's ward where Clarissa Clementine was a patient. She shared a deep and mysterious connection to the doctor. It is said they were lovers, but no one could ever confirm it since Fitzgerald was a womanizer... A married womanizer.

"Clarissa, how are you doing today?" Doctor Fitzgerald asked his patient.

The stunning brunette looked at the doctor, her green eyes were darker than usual and it seemed like she spent hours crying. "We are all going to die today." The patient said with such certainty that it scared the experienced doctor.

Fitzgerald put his pen down and leaned forward to take a good look at his beautiful patient. "What do you mean? Are you hearing voices again?"

Clarissa nodded and looked out the window. "My voices were clear. The patients are preparing to burn this place down and there is nothing we can do to stop it." She turned her head to the handsome doctor. "Wakefield Asylum will no longer harm another innocent person."

The doctor held his patient's hands and looked at her in an adoring way. "Let's run away, Clarissa! No one needs to know we survived if what you say it's true." He placed his right hand on her cheek and smiled. "You don't deserve to be surrounded by people with such troubled souls."

The fragile woman smiled and kissed his forehead. "Oliver, you are the best thing in this insane asylum, but we are going to die." Her green eyes were glowing. "Perhaps, we will be reborn and able to live a happy life... For now, we should just embrace the fact we are not surviving the patients from the criminal's ward."

As if on cue, both lovers heard the beginning of the mutiny. Fitzgerald locked the room they were in so no one could come in while Clarissa began to pray. "What are you doing?" The distraught doctor asked in horror.

"I'm begging the Lord for mercy! I have sinned, Oliver, but I don't want to go to Hell." Clarissa grabbed the doctor's hand and he got down on his knees next to the woman he loved. "Pray with me!" She asked her lover.

Fitzgerald nodded and they prayed for leniency. In the meantime, the most aggressive patients set fire to the offices, raped and killed the nurses, turn the crosses upside down and tortured the director of the asylum, killing him in the process. Clarissa threw herself from the window after witnessing the beheading of Doctor Fitzgerald. Every single patient died, including the ones who started the most heinous mass murder the town of Wakefield ever saw. The fire was so intense that no one was able to leave the institution.

After that, the mayor decided to close the asylum for good and forbid anyone to enter the unholy ground as he deemed unsafe. No one dared to step inside the building, fearing the hauntings of the patients that set fire to the asylum.
