Gabriel's POV

I took my clothes out of my closet putting the ones needed to be in a suitcase there and the ones needed to be left on their hanger there. I have wanted to move out for a long time now, but I always ended up convincing myself it was fine here. Now it was anything but fine. I did not just have a crush on my brother's girl, I acted on it and he was one step away from finding out.

I was also tired of my dad brothering me about it; I did not know what he wanted me to do, I had lost all self-control now. I was too far in to back up now. No matter how right Dominique was about Matteo deserving to know the truth, I could not tell him that. I was inside my closet when I heard my door opened, it must be Matteo. After what happened yesterday, I knew he wanted someone to talk to about everything.

Not only did he find out that his girlfriend was cheating on him, but he was with Erika and mom found out. Like me, Matteo dreaded the thought of our mother seeing him as a playboy similar to dad. Dad had hurt mom in the past and we did not want to be that type of men, but the apple does not fall far from the tree. We were like our father no matter how much we tried to hide from it. I walked out the closet to Matteo standing by the door. "Why is your room a mess?" He questioned. "Just because Amy isn't here does not mean it has to be dirty, clean it," he ordered.

My room was a mess because I was packing to leave, but he did not know it yet. "I'm packing," I informed him.

"For what?" He asked.

"I'm moving," I finally let out. He raised his eyebrow, I knew he would have that type of reaction. We have never lived apart, we only did for a short while when he was in college. "I think it's time, I have been avoiding moving out for years now and it's time I follow through, I need my own place," I said.

"You have a whole floor to yourself," he said pointing around.

"Yeah, and I'm twenty-eight, I'm tired of my family being in my business."

"We both know that no matter how far you live, we'll always be in your business and as for dad and that girl, we both know you should not listen to his hypocrite self," I looked at it. I felt bad whenever he tried to defend me against dad not knowing dad was trying to protect him. Dad was only trying to do the right thing, I was sleeping with his girlfriend.

I stopped what I was doing and looked at him. "I know why you're moving," he said. I raised my eyebrow to know what reason did he know. "That woman you have been seeing does not like that you're living with your parents?" He asked, I could not help but let out a chuckle.

"Yeah, that's exactly why I'm moving," I said sarcastically. "Anyways, what do you want?" I asked him. I walked back into the closet and continued packing my clothes. I had to be out of here by the end of the week or I would officially go crazy. Matteo and Dominique were in a battle that I caused and the farther away I am from it, the better. "Did mom's friend come through?" I asked referring to Veronica.

"Yeah, I got a called from the hospital earlier, they just have to run a few more tests and I can pick her up later," he said. I heard his voice come closer, I turned around and he was standing in the closet. "This woman you have been seeing," he started. "Does her husband know she had been seeing someone else?" He questioned.

"I don't know Matt," I said getting a little annoyed. "We avoid talking about it," I lied. A lot of Dominique and I's conversations revolved around Matteo. I mean, how could we not? We were lying to someone we both cared about; we had to come up with ways to keep up the lie. "What?" I said, "you want to know if Dominique knows you are cheating on her?" I asked him. I turned and looked at him, he looked uneasy for a moment. "So, was mom right, were you at her place yesterday?" He nodded his head.

The truth was Dominique knew; she just did not know with who. She knew Matteo had not always been faithful to her, but she accepted it because she knew their relationship was complicated. She did not question him about it because he always put her and Veronica first. "Thought you stopped?" I inquired. He assured me he did and even got angry when I laughed about it.

"I just-" he started, "I made a mistake, okay?" He asked, "I was angry at Dominique after finding out she's cheating on me and I needed to be less angry," he said.

"So you can cheat and she can't?" I asked, at this moment, if he did not trust me, he would have suspected something. All the clues were there, I was seeing someone who was taken and Dominique was cheating, but he made a mistake. He trusted me, that was his only mistake. I never attacked him about his cheating before, but I was just getting angry.

"You're an expert on cheaters now?" He asked, "I'm just upset that I trusted her," he said. "I was willing to change for her and she does this. Should have just stuck with it," he said.

"I don't know what you want me to say, Matt," I said honestly. I wanted to apologize, but he would ask for what. I had no reason to apologize if I was not doing anything wrong. "I'm sorry that Dominique broke your heart, but it happens to the best of us," I said. I was about to push pass him to go back outside when he stopped me and looked into my eyes.

"What's up with you?" He asked, I pulled away from him. "Why are you moving?" He asked again walking outside to where I was.

"I don't want to talk about this Matteo, I'm sorry about Dominique, I really am, but I just think you are being a hypocrite and I am moving so you guys can stay out of my business. I'm moving out so I do not have to have these conversations," I said.

"You're tired of us?" He asked, I nodded my head, it was kind of true, I was tired of them. "But you're right, I am a hypocrite and I'm sorry for being something you need to avoid. I have to go, I'll see you later if you're still here," he said leaving the room. I looked at the door he just exited, I sat on my bed and let out a deep breath.
