Howl

It has been a long time and I haven't seen anyone. I will hear the occasional howl, but that's about it. My hiding spot I'm in right now is only temporary until I know its safe to move. I'm in a Very Uncomfortable position And its moments like this that I wish I was smaller like April. I then feel another body press against me.

I snap my head over and see bright red. The first thing I think is Lyra, and Lyra it is. "I have a plan," Lyra said, as I notice nobody is around and get up out of my uncomfortable position. "you know where Westmonde street is, right?". I replied with a no, as April and I never really get out and explore much. "Well then... Once the other get close and howl, We'll howl and both run. me first to bait them all away, and then you. You'll go that way, and I'll go that way." She pointed with her head to two directions. "Once you lost them, go that way until you reach a bus stop. then take two lefts and find 69 westmonde street. That's my house. In my front yard there is a wheelbarrow, hide under that and wait for me." She said somehow in one breath. We say nothing as we wait, except howling of course.

Everything is quiet for a bit until I hear a small rustle in the distance. I look over to Lyra, but she hasn't noticed yet. I give her a small poke on her leg And she knows that I'm telling her someone is nearby. We both watch, trying to spot whoever is there. Then we hear a howl. Lyra and I both know it's Esta's Howl. We howl in Union, And Lyra starts to run. I can see Esta, but no April. She's very small and I could've missed her. Or she could be waiting for me to come out and pounce at me. I can run faster than her, I think. Without thinking I just run out and run as fast as I can in the way Lyra pointed. I look back to see Esta chasing me. I run onto the Street and run faster. There's no point in going to Lyra's house now. I decide to run back into the bush to hopefully lose her. I look back to see where she is and she's gaining on me. I look in front of me to see a big, wide tree. I come to a halt, nearly tripping myself. Esta jumps into a tackle, But misses, and runs straight into the tree.
