I woke up with a strangled gasp.
My hand instantly went up to my chest, trying to relieve the tension I felt. I sat up, breathing hard, trying to focus on something other than my dreams.
After I had calmed down, I looked around at my surrounding. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
Where the heck was I?
I quickly got out of the bed, and made my way out the room, wanting to figure out where I was. Once I stepped out, I realized I was still at Shawn's house.
Then I remembered I fell asleep watching Civil War. I wasn't mad about that. If I remember correctly, I fell asleep about the time where Cap and Iron Man were going to be fighting. So I was fine with that. Obviously, I never liked that scene.
I quietly made my way back down the huge stairs. Trying to locate Shawn, so I could go home. And thank him I suppose, for carrying me up the stairs, and letting me sleep on one of his beds.
I smiled slightly when I saw him. He was right where we started. On his coach, watching tv. His back was towards me, and he hand his phone to his ear; talking to someone.
"I can't do this, Paul." He sighed, boredom and annoyance laced in his voice. I stopped immediately. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I couldn't stop myself.
"She's just so annoying, and an inconvenience."
My heart dropped.
"I really don't want to do this, especially with her. She's a pain."
He sighed irritably.
"Don't you get it? I don't want to be around her. Don't want to babysit her. I don't want anything to do with her."
I didn't stick around to hear more. I quietly -and quite angrily- made my way to the door. I grabbed my purse and slipped my shoes on -all which were far away from him, thankfully.
I got my phone from my purse, and quickly got an Uber. Thank God, it wasn't going to take long to get here.
And with that, I opened the door without a second thought and left.
Angrily, I made my way down the long driveway. I huffed as I opened the gate.
This was all his fault! We wouldn't have be thrown together if it wasn't for him!! As if I want to spend a second with him! Oh please.
By the time the Uber came, my temper had calmed down. It went down from flamed, to just pissed. I was left jittery, though.
The drive back to my house took about forty minutes. Stupid LA traffic. No matter what time of the day it was, there was always traffic.
Thankfully, my Uber driver didn't care to talk to me. He must've sensed I didn't want to speak, and just drove, nodding his head to the music.
I laid my head against the seat, just listening to the music. Adele's melodic voice calming me down significantly.
I felt my phone vibrate, cutting off my calm state of mind. I groaned internally when I read the name on the text.
Karly: Don't forget, date tonight at 8!
I rolled my eyes and shut my phone off.
Not unless she wants me to punch Shawn out in public, tonight's "date" wasn't going to happen.
