MONSTER

Armed with nothing but a broken heart and a fake smile
I marched boldly into this strange world
It stripped me of the little ounce of light I had in me
Shattered the glued pieces of my broken dreams in a way so cruel,
I couldn't put them back together
Stomped happily on the already shattered and withering pieces of my heart
Watched and laughed as I tried to chase the pieces of my soul,
Trying desperately to fix my broken frame
Now they ask why I'm cold,
Wonder why I'm reserved
They wonder why I never smile or laugh again
Some ask if I have a heart and I just laugh and reply "No"
I took my emotions and locked them in a chest
I threw the key away and burnt it in flames
I consider feelings as a sign of weakness
I took the little part of my soul and discarded it
I became the monster I am because of this world
So I warn you,
Flee! Stay away from this world
Run! Never look back,
Never let your feet grace the grounds of this world
It will eat you alive and swallow you whole
Taking all that's good away with it
So run! I beg of you,
If you want to remain whole
Run, while you still can,
Else it shall be too late
And just like me, you lose yourself
And you become a 'Monster'
