A Siblings Survival

Mom..Dad.. CH.2

About 10 minutes passed when my mom began to worry. "I need to go find him," she said pacing around the room. She started heading towards the door when my little brother started screaming and grabbing her legs. "Mommmmy don't go don't don't go." Max was screaming, crying, and pulling at her legs trying to make her not go towards the door. I told her not to go, but she wouldn't listen, she wanted to find my dad. " guys it's OK I promise I'll be back I just need to find your father he might've gotten stuck somewhere." She kissed us both on the fore head and told us that she loved us. As she went to the door she looked back at us, she gave me a smile and walked out. I could see the fear through it all.
An hour later
Max had fallen asleep on my lap hugging scruffy. Suddenly I heard the loudest crash. Mam screamed and woke up. The ground started shaking violently and I was holding onto Max as tight as I could. The shaking went on for about two minutes and during all of that, me and Max were being thrown around the room. The concrete was cracking, parts of the ceiling started falling and all I could do was cover Max's head. While I was holding Max his body went limp. In all of the chaos everything seemed to slow down, as I saw Max's eyes roll back. Staring at him I forgot everything else.
Then everything went black.. "Maddy? *sniffle* MADDDDY." I felt poking at my side. I opened my eyes to see Max poking me and crying. He has scratches on his face, arms, and legs. "Hey it's ok Max I'm fine, are you ok do your scratches hurt?" He nods assuring me that he's ok and hugs me. I stand up and grab Max's hand. I open the basement door. I squint my eyes at the sight of light. Max let go of my hand and steps forward. He fell down and flared up at me. He giggled then hopped back up. That's one thing I love about him, he's always so strong. "Maddy where is mommy and daddy?" I couldn't answer this. I didn't know the answer. "Uhmm i don't know let's go see if we can find them." Max started walking holding scruffy in his arms. We got into an open area when Max almost broke my heart with 2 words. He walked in a circle looking around and called out in an innocent child voice,
"Mommy. Daddy?" I joined him in calling. "Mom..Dad?"
