If I had to use one word to describe where I was when I woke up it would be: unfamiliar. The sounds, smells, and surroundings, all were unaccustomed to me. The walls were painted blue grey and completely covered in various posters and photographs. Leaning against one wall was a guitar, piano, and of all things, a ukulele. I lay my head back down.
Suddenly I realize that I’m not alone. Literally 6 inches from my face was a boy with dark messy hair and pale skin, still sleeping. I jump back. Paxton, what the hell did you do last night? I then become aware of a throbbing pain in my head. Clutching my temples, I sit up again.
“Where the heck am I?” I whisper to myself. The eyes belonging to the boy next to me flutter open. I know those eyes. He looks up to me and smiles a little.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He breathes. I know that voice too.
“I’m sorry, I’m really, really sorry. But what happened?” The boy sits up too, looking concerned.
“What do you remember?”
“Um, well I went to a party I think, with my friend Clare and… we didn’t uhh… we didn’t, you know?” His face turns red.
“Oh, no no. We didn’t, I promise.”
“Good, because I have a boyfriend.” His eyes look a little troubled.
“You really don’t remember do you?”
“Remember what?” Everything starts coming back all at once. My eyes widen and I cover my mouth with my hand. “Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god.”
“I’m sorry.” Christian says.
“Don’t be. I’m sorry I forgot.” I pull him into a hug. “But the past is the past, right?”
“Yeah.” He lets go and looks me in the eye, “But you must be starving. What do you want to eat? I have cereal, toast, pancakes, eggs, and sausage I think?”
“Cereal sounds good.” I smile back at him. Christian kisses the top of my head.
“Anything for you, love.”
