Chapter 6: A Flashback.

Nate (NateWantsToBattle):

          I follow Nova to the place she kept my friends in. I ask her one more time, "Nova, why did you have to switch them in another room? The main room was big enough to hold them all." She turns back and slightly hisses at me. I do a little jump back, and she continues walking ahead of me.  "Why do I still trust Nova? She turned me into a nightmare, and I almost killed Matthew!! People have made reference to me on news, calling me a beast, a 'Natemare'! I could've just said that it was a false claim, and carry on with life, but NO! I just had to go back to Nova and surrender to her. Look where I am, now... at her home, hosting a birthday party, with Nova... Can this get any worse?!?" I question myself, as Nova opens the last door. "Here we are... the guest room... it's pretty big, yes, but that's how my parents wanted it to be. For grand guests." Nova whispers shyly. Her mom had owned this house just a few weeks ago until the "Natemare" incident occurred, which she committed suicide right after. I went past her, and I was astonished by the room itself. Covered in a light purple, the room has everything anyone could dream of. A bedside TV, a corner kitchen, 2 bathrooms... so maybe Nova wasn't so bad after all! Everyone around me was distracted by the kitchen and the TV, except 2 people. Matt, and another YouTuber. 

          "Hey, are you guys alright?" I slowly walk up to them. The other YouTuber sadly stands and walks away from me. Matt just sits there, motionless. "Hey, Matt." He doesn't respond. I try again, this time a bit louder, and still no answer. "Matthew, you alright? I say, lifting his head. When I do, I see that he's still unconscious. "Matt?" I say twice as loud as before. The other YouTubers crowd around me, but no one helps. I stand, and suddenly, I realize why no one helped me. "My name is Nathan Smith. I'm the birthday guy. Sorry, you guys had a rough time with my friend here..." I start to point to Nova, but suddenly the YouTuber from before runs up and attacks me, growing like a monster. The two animators help me up, as Nova holds back the green-dye haired YouTuber. He kept on mumbling, "you killed him, you killed him," over and over again, like in a trance. We all just stood in the guest room in silence, waiting for someone to say something. I glance at the unconscious Matt, and suddenly, I'm brought with a flashback. 

-A Few Weeks Back-

          "Hey Matthew," I call my best theorist on the phone. "Hey, Nate, what's up?" Matt answers. I throw my feet on the sofa and get comfortable. "You wanna come over? I got an amazing collab we both could do for Halloween!" "OMG, yes! That'll be perfect... so what's the story about?" I smirk, even though he can't see it through the phone, and whisper, "You'll see..." I chuckle an evil laugh and hang up. Right after, I sighed to myself. "I really don't have an idea for this special..."  I think as I hear a knock on my front door

          "Oh hello, can I help you?" I open the door to a girl in a hoodie. She's just about my age, maybe a year younger, but still very kind. "Um hi... I, uh, I would like to know if I can help you with anything. I think I overheard you talking about a Halloween special... I think I can help with that. Please, may I? My parents, well, at least my mom, she's going insane. I ran away from home, but I know she'll find me. Please, can I be a guest at your warm home? I'll help you with everything you'll need... I'll even be your slave! Just... please?" She sounded so desperate... I couldn't help but accept her into my home. She seems so cheery after that, so it made me happy too. I just wish I'd known what she would become sooner.
