Chapter 13: Who's Left To Blame?

Nate (NateWantsToBattle):

          "Nate? Nova? Where are you both?" I shout, looking for any black or galaxy hair peeking out any cars. "Hmm... where could they be?" I think as I lock my car and walk toward the entrance where we were supposed to meet. I call out for them at the locked entrance, since Nate has the keys, but no one responds. "Hopefully no one is playing a big joke on me," I think as I shiver in the cold fall breeze.

          Finally, after a few minutes of calling and shouting, I decided to go wait in the car and maybe they might arrive. When I was near my car, I heard a child's voice. "Um, hello?" I turn to see a 12-year-old staring into my eyes. She looked very shy, but the happiness on her face made my lights turn on. "She's a fan of mine!" "Uh, hi! I'm... I'm Angel. I'm a great fan of you and Game and Film Theory. I would die to have your autograph!" She looked so grateful to meet me, that I couldn't deny. "Don't worry, little one, I'll make that dream of yours come true... You would die for his autograph, won't you?" Nate said, appearing out of thin air.

"Nate?! Since when were you here?" I say, confused and started. Ignoring me, he steps toward the young child, who's squealing at the sight of NateWantsToBattle. "EEEKKK! It's Nathan Smith!!! It's a dream come true!!!" I smile, but Nate doesn't do anything. He just keeps stepping toward Angel, as she keeps stepping back. She shoots an afraid glance at me, and I immediately help her out. "Dude, Nate, what the heck? What are you doing?" I stare into his never-ending eyes, and suddenly, I'm brought with a thought. "What if he isn't Nate?"

          "Nate, I'm warning you... Nate, please. Don't do anything to the child." I back up with Angel behind me. "Stay back from him, little one. I don't think he's Nathan Smith anymore," I trail off, as I notice his eyes, his brown eyes lighten, becoming a dark blue. I turn and see my car 2 cars away. "Just need a distraction..." I think as I notice Angel's hands. A flashlight. Since it takes too long to ask for the flashlight, I grabbed it from her hand, and shined it in his eyes. His scream was horrifying: A high-pitched girl voice with Nathan's original mixed together. "Ahhhh!!" His sound blasted into the sky, creating an even weirder effect. "C'mon Angel, let's get out of here!!" Angel gets into the backseat and I turn on the engine of my car. "Vrrr.... VRRRRRR!!!" It roars, but the car isn't moving. "Come on..." I muster, but nothing happens. I hear Nate's costume shoes walk toward me, getting louder and louder...

Well, at least I thought it was Nate..
