EUNJUNG
My life is one hell of a rollercoaster. One moment, I was Lee Eun Jung, and I had a huge family of business tycoons with different empires all over the globe. From expensive clothes to various designer items, I had it all. Millions worth of jewelry, a huge mansion, tens of servants, a flock of body guards, name it, I got it.
But after a few blinks of an eye, I suddenly have nothing. I am now Choi Eun Jung, the fake daughter and heiress of Chawon Holdings, one of the biggest business empires of South Korea.
I was exiled by my huge and filthy rich family to live on my own along the cold streets of Seoul. I didn't even know that I didn't belong in that family. My biological mother, the first wife of the President of Chawon Holdings, died from a car accident two years ago. She conceived me through an act of infidelity, a sudden rendezvous with jobless man he met on a bar resulted to my existence.
For almost eighteen years, I lived a life full of lies and ruthlessness. Sure, I thought I was the heiress of our chaebol, because I was raised to be one. I was given excellent education and training, only to end up being thrown out from the place I called home.
When Mommy died, I was left alone with my Father, the most feared tycoon of the country. Daddy told me about my identity, that I wasn't really his daughter. I was fine. I thought it's all too late for them to throw me out, considering they've raised me for eighteen long years using their money.
But when my grandfather knew, within a snap of his fingers, I was thrown out of our home. I was hurt. In fact, hurt is an understatement. My mother just died and all of a sudden I'm exiled. Sure, Daddy offered me help, but not the kind of help I wanted.
He gave me money. Lots of it. He gave me a place to stay. He even gave me a black card. But I never wanted those mere worldly possessions. I wanted my father to treat me the same way. I wanted him to tell me that he still loves me, but he didn't. Instead, he turned his back against me, pouring away the long years I've spent with him down the drain.
Now I live alone in my overly spaced apartment here in Gangnam. I have a dog, Scott, as I call him, who keeps me company.
"Choi Eun Jung!" My boss called me from the storage room.
I sighed, "Ne!"
I hastily went to the storage room, fixing my bangs as I glanced at my own reflection on the octave mirror above the air conditioner. I peeked at the door of the storage room, a small smile on my lips.
"Did you check the inventory already? Why are these books stacked here?" She asked, her thick layer of lipstick smashed into her protruding lips grabbed my attention.
I bowed, "Jeosonghabnida, sajangnim. I was just about to arrange them but a customer came in."
She sighed, "Are you slacking off? Ya! Your pay is considerably high for a bookstore keeper!"
I smiled widely at her, "Ani, I will arrange them now, sajangnim."
She closed her eyes in frustration, her hands massaging her temples. "Ya~ Eunjung-ssi, do your job properly, alright?"
I nodded enthusiastically, "Ne!"
She sighed and walked passed me, her dangling earrings making faint noises as she exaggerated an exit from the storage room. I followed her to send her out, still smiling from ear to ear.
