Jungkook dashed down the stairs, his heart racing as he caught sight of a figure he recognized all too well. Taeyong lay sprawled on the ground, struggling for breath, her throat gripped tightly by a stranger. Without a moment's hesitation, Jungkook surged forward, yanking the assailant away from her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Jungkook's voice dripped with fury. The man rose to his feet, brushing off his clothes with a nonchalant air.
"I was just wandering around, looking for a bite to eat, and I stumbled upon a real treat. Lucky me! You stepped away, and I thought I’d sample the goods!" The words sent a chill down Jungkook's spine, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"You bit her?!" With a surge of rage, Jungkook swung his fist, landing a solid punch on the guy's jaw. "If you dare come near her again, I swear I’ll make you regret it!" He shot a quick glance at Taeyong, concern etched on his face.
The man merely chuckled, unfazed. "Whoa there! I’m not about to let you keep her all to yourself." Ignoring the taunt, Jungkook scooped Taeyong into his arms and hurried out of the building.
Before stepping outside, he turned back, his glare piercing. "You think you can take her from me? One day, she’ll be mine!" The guy leaned in, brushing his lips against Taeyong's cheek, and Jungkook's anger boiled over as he kicked the man away, storming home while muttering curses under his breath.
Once they reached the house, Jungkook carried Taeyong upstairs, gently laying her on the bed and tucking her in with a soft blanket. His gaze fell upon the bruise forming on her neck, a surge of protectiveness flooding through him. "That bastard! I won’t let him have you," he vowed silently, his mind racing with thoughts of what had just transpired.
Suddenly, Taeyong stirred, her eyes fluttering open. The first question that escaped her lips was, "Do you know that guy?" Jungkook's expression softened, a warm smile breaking through the tension.
The evening air was thick with unspoken words as Taeyong felt the weight of Jungkook's earlier suggestion. "We can discuss it later, but first, you need to rest!" His voice echoed in her mind, leaving her in a state of bewilderment. She nodded, though confusion clouded her thoughts. Later, as she stood in the washroom, she caught sight of the purple mark on her neck, a stark reminder of the day’s events.
What if Mom discovers this mark? The thought spiraled through her mind, a whisper of anxiety, when suddenly, Jungkook appeared, his presence electrifying the air around her.
Without warning, he drew her close, his tongue brushing against the mark on her neck. Taeyong's heart raced, a mix of shock and confusion flooding her senses. "J-Jungkook, what are you doing—" she stammered, but before she could finish, his lips captured hers, sending a jolt through her body. He pulled back, a smirk playing on his lips.
"You’re mine forever," he declared, leaving her in a whirlwind of emotions.
"You're so adorable when you're surprised, Yongie. Get dressed and come out; let’s watch a movie!" With that, he sauntered out, leaving her in a haze of uncertainty.
Taeyong shook her head, turning to the mirror, only to find the mark had vanished. What is he, really? A question lingered in her mind, unanswered and haunting.
Draped in her silk nightgown, she descended the stairs, where Jungkook lounged on the couch, beckoning her to join him. Without hesitation, she seized the moment to voice her curiosity. "What are you?" The question slipped from her lips, prompting a chuckle from him as he pulled her closer, their faces mere inches apart.
"That dress looks stunning on you," he teased, earning a playful smack on the head, which only made him laugh more.
"Promise me you won’t freak out when I tell you," he said, his tone suddenly serious. She nodded, anticipation building as she awaited his revelation.
"I'm actually half human. In other words, a vampire."
