Jungkook was upset that all of Jimin's belongings could fit in the back seat of his car.
Jimin was twenty three. He should have pointless trinkets and weird gadgets.
Joey must not have let him have things like that.
But, Jimin was admant about taking the couch pillows, because he bought them with the last paycheck he got from his old job.
"Kookie, I-"
Jungkook glanced at him, his eyes flicking back and forth from the road to Jimin.
"I can't stay with you. I don't have any money. I can't help do anything financially. And without Joey....I'll probably have to quit school."
Jungkook sighed. He hadn't thought about that. It'd been a long summer break and school was the last thing on his mind.
"I...I have a brother. He's staying in England right now, but I'm sure he'd let me stay at his place-"
"No. If Joey comes looking for you, I don't want you to be alone."
Jimin deflated and nodded. "I understand that...but you can't support both me and yourself. It wouldn't be fair to you."
"I don't mind," Jungkook said, smiling. He reached over and grabbed Jimin's hand. "I want to take care of you. Even if it is just for a little while."
Jimin blushed and squeezed the younger's hand. "Thank you, Kookie."
Namjoon dropped his head, biting his lip.
Jungkook and Jimin had just told him everything. Everything about Joey and the abuse, Jimin's escape, and how he needed help getting on his feet.
Namjoon was on board with helping him, no questions asked, because he came to realize that Joey oppressed the poor kid. Joey cut him off from the world and made sure Jimin could only rely on him.
Namjoon had seen it too much in some of his friends and he really hated it. So, he was going to do whatever he could to help this kid.
"Jimin," Jungkook held the older's hand and they turned to one another, "You said you have a brother. I think you should call him and tell him everything that's happened."
Jimin looked to his feet. "I don't know. I don't want to upset him. I'm sure he's having a great time in England."
"England?" Joon asked.
"Yeah, he uh...he studies there. Culinary. He wants to start his own restaurant."
Joon nodded, "Honorable."
Jimin smiled.
"But, Hyung, I'm serious. He's your brother. When was the last time you called him?"
"Well, he came at the start of summer break. He was the guy...I was with in your cafe."
Jungkook nodded. "Was that the last time?"
Jimin shook his head, "We talk at least once every week. Phone calls, Facebook, video chat, Kakao. However we can, we talk."
"That's good," Joon said gently, "Have you...ever told him about Joey? About how he treated you?"
Jimin shook his head. "He's always been stressed. Either because of school or traveling to come see me and our parents. I... He didn't need more to worry about."
"Jimin, I'm sure, by the sound of him, he would drop everything to help you." Jungkook gripped his shoulder and smiled.
Jimin dropped his head and slowly smiled as well. "Well, yeah, I know he would. But, that's the thing. He's busy and has better things to deal with."
