XVIII - Curiosity kills the cat

   Dr Sara Katic walks by. She was laughing loudly and oddly with others doctors, and surgeons. Dr Thomas Damon, Henri Donovan and Simon Lejeune were moving forward with her. She kept being amused by this group. The company of boys was both pleasant, enjoyable and above all, mostly conducive to rapprochements. Not to mention her physic was suddenly tainted by a new feeling, when she was close to Thomas.

"You're so funny Thomas ! But I gotta go.. See ya guys !"

They wave at her and they go in separate ways. Sara pushes the door of a supply room in front of her.

In it, the spectacle she had witnessed was incomparable. Both disgusting and surprising. Claire and Sam were kissing deeply, naked. Their bodies were melting on each other. White blouses were covering the dirty floor. It smelled sweat and, strangely, cherry chapstick. Sara yells.

The surprise had suddenly turned into disgust, finally giving way to anger.

She was tired of seeing them, hearing them, bragging about their relationship, or showing it. An implacable idea pops into her mind. Inviting Sara to gently close the door, leaving with a mischievous smile.

Her duty was to be devoted. To achieve this, she must tell Madam Eldestein.

She knocks hardly on the door. A slow and soft "Come in."invites her to enter, she proceeds.

"Chief! I have seen lesbian activities.. It cannot continue !"

The flow of speechs goes quickly, very different from the attitude of the director. "Please, take a sit." Lisa operates with a disturbing calm. Sara sits, with a angry grin on her face.

"What is the problem ?"

Sara is a bit interlocked. She had already explained.

"I told you ! I just saw Dr Dearing having sex with Dr Wylde, again ! They're noisy and not at all successful, as far as work is concerned.."

Lisa is upset. She was not chocked by Claire and Sam's relationship, nor she was exhausted of the delay they formed. In fact, the boss was more concerned about the attitude of Dr Katic.

"It is not your duty to reveal names, or relationships. I know exactly what is happening in this hospital, as soon I am making it work. I know precisely who is with who, who was with who. You do what is in your responsibly. That is to say, your own job..

- ..But ! Sara interrupts.

- Let me finish young nosy lady.. It is your duty to work and not concern about others. I get it, you're pissed off after you saw them having sex, because you don't.

- I beg your pardon ?

- Oh please, don't play with words Doctor Katic. We both know what it feels like to see people enjoying things and not us. You wanted to be like them.

- I ..

- Now, before I yell again on you and make strange conclusions, would you mind leaving me with my paperworks ?

- Yes. I am..

- Sorry ? I know, me too, bye bye."

Lisa sighs and Sara closes the door.

Madam Eldestein catches the phone discreetly, calling a friendly colleague.

"Eliza, we have a problem."

Dr Darcy walks at Dr Wylde.

"Wylde !"

Sam turns at her, with a concerned face. It meant she had thought about the reveal thing : Sara discovering them.

"Dr Darcy please ! I..

- Madam Eldestein just informed me. Please don't apologize. I believe Dr Katic is just angry about you two."

Sam is both puzzled and amused by this situation. She would not expect Elizabeth to be on her side.

"Why she would do that ?

- She wants your post.

- I don't..?

- You were about to be promote.

- Oh ?

- Don't tell the others. And yes, including who're you thinking of.

- Thanks. and wait what..? I didn't know you were supporting us.

- I am not. I am trying to help ruining Dr Katic's reputation. Lately she has been very intrusives.. and a bit haughty.

- A bit ? Believe me when I say I saw her laughing strangely with Dr Damon this morning..

- .. This has nothing to do with our responsibilities. But thanks, I will try to fix this."

She gives to Dr Wylde files and schedules of the week before leaving in a run.

Dr Dearing comes by. She was worried.

"So.. What's happening ?"

Sam is fascinated by this new challenge. A smirk draws her face, and her laughing eyes were a hint.

"Sam. Tell me.

- Do you think Dr Darcy is dating Alex ?"

Madam Eldestein meets a group of interns. Presenting the building and its services, she is interrupted by Dr Wylde and Dr Dearing.

"You two, in my office. I have not finish."

They came in, with red burning cheeks and shameful expressions on their red faces.

After a very long minute, Lisa sits at her desk. Facing the two faulty dentists. She tries to be serious, but the small wrinkle under her lips was the proof of her amusement.

"Please be more discreet. Do this outside I don't know but please find a solution to keep away Dr Katic."

Sam and Claire approves with a sign of head.

"May I ask a question ? Sam wonders.

- Yes ?

- Do you know if Dr Darcy.. is ..?

- Seeing someone ? That is absolutely impossible and outrageous. Completely rude of you.

- I am sorry. I meant..

- I don't know."

The two walks out under the eyes of Lisa. She did not respond to her answer. How could she ?

Without a word, she opens a drawer taking out fan fictions.
