Alessandra's POV:
Saturday evening was cold and gloomy in Paris.
I enjoyed visiting here for work, only because my previous spouse had grown up in France, and proposed to me in Paris. I chose to always wear my wedding band, I believed that if I were to die anytime, I'd want to die wearing that ring.
Rico, my husband, had been an absolute dream, though he never returned from a business deal with my younger brother, Eric.
It took me many years to bypass the grief of his death, though there were still many times of hurt, pain, and sorrow. I never wished to love another man except him. Therefore, I secluded myself from the dating life, and refused to settle with someone else. I chose this because I knew that I'd never be able to handle another loss if I were to ever get attached again. I'd go completely off the rails.
Sadly, each time I'd come back to France it'd also serve as a reminder of what I lost. It was so painfully stunning. Everywhere I turned to, it felt as if a piece of my dormant heart would thump even more.
Lost in my surroundings of the tall buildings, I tore away from the sight of admiring the wide boulevards and beautiful structures. Time was ticking, and as of right now, Big Sammy (my contractor), only had a day left to live.
My only chance to successfully and inconspicuously kill The Viper, was as the gala tonight at 6. I was slightly excited for tonight, due to it being a masquerade gala. Only the elites A-listers of the France were invited to these formal parties, including a few mafia leaders.
These big get-togethers were the ideal for any hitman, it'd be so crowded that I'd slip in easily, and when I'd fire shots— everyone would scatter like ants. My only problem was— who the hell's the Viper?
I used the previous few days in researching and asking sources, but each would tell me something different. Some even claimed to have seen him in person, but most go off of stories they'd hear from others.
As far as physical appearance, all of them seemed to have drastically different descriptions. And so, I decided that their descriptions made it inconclusive to trust or believe.
Though, after all of their far-fetched versions, they almost always mentioned a distinct gold ring that The Viper wore. Allegedly, it had been on his ring finger, indicating that he has or had a wife.
Most of them mentioned this wedding band being so unique by it having two snakes slither up each side, meeting up to a blood-red ruby at its center. I've decided at the gala, I'll locate him from the ring itself. It just meant it'd be a lot more time consuming, rather than already knowing who your target is.
Later that day at around 9, the city lights noticeably glistening against the darkness of night. I decided to dress appropriately, with a long satin dress, a black bob wig, and a dark masquerade covering the majority of my face. In the process, I decided to strap a loaded handgun around my thigh, underneath the dress.
